and that's a 9 over .500 season high buried the Twins WHITE SOX WINNER
Oh by the way David Sandlin pitched a complete game (7 IP) 2 hit shutout with 1 BB & 9 K. He might've just catapulted himself into a September call up.

Mets probably want something for him . Wouldn't surprise me if they pulled him back off waivers after no one meets their price.

Dec. 19, 2025 Carlos Rodriguez has been named an assistant general manager with the White Sox, joining Josh Barfield and Jin Wong in similarly titled roles they have previously held in Chicago. They report to general manager Chris Getz, who has gone outside the organization to bring in all three executives. Rodriguez joins the White Sox after 16 seasons (2010-25) with the Tampa Bay Rays, including the last six as a vice president. He was promoted to vice president, assistant general manager in November 2022 after serving as vice president of baseball operations in 2022 and vice president of player development and international scouting from 2019-21. He left the Rays at the end of the ‘25 season to pursue other opportunities. Scott Merkin article Dec. 18th,2025 TRADE DETAILS White Sox get: OF Tristan Peters Rays get: Player to be named later or cash considerations Peters, 25, was designated for assignment by the Rays on Tuesday to make room for the addition of left-hander Steven Matz. Peters slashed .266/.355/.429 last season for Triple-A Durham with 28 doubles, three triples, 15 home runs, 76 RBIs, 73 runs scored, 65 walks and 11 stolen bases over a career-high 136 games. He also appeared in four games with the Rays after making his debut on Aug. 8 at Seattle, finishing 0-for-12 with seven strikeouts. Notice how close the dates are even though the Sox got Peters the day before Rodriquez was hired I'm pretty sure he had a lot to do with the Peters acquisition.

Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
Vargas was just 24-25 and a year removed from Top 100 lists, Castillo on the descent side of his 30’s and paid far more than his production level. 2022-23 were his last objectively strong/solid seasons. Two totally different trades. It doesn’t automatically mean that they have the Midas touch all of a sudden. Especially with pitching.

For some reason my machine connects to soxtalk tonight at my place. prior to tonight only when i go to the library does the connection work. Since I've been gone basically all season who has been the hated poster on here? Interesting to me that nobody really noticed I've been gone: u'd think caulfield or my brother rice brethren would have noticed no more greg.

We don't know if it's a bad trade. Was Miguel Vargas a bad trade? You certainly told us it was, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, and you know what? You were wrong each time you did that. Because they didn't trade for a prospect to plug him in and have him bat .400. They wanted a hitting prospect who they could work with. Same with Castillo. They're working with him on pitch selection, probably a few tweaks to his delivery. They're going to make the post-season. Maybe they get him repurposed by then. You screaming at the first 5 games is ridiculous. Keep doing it, I don't care. But that's not an accurate reading of the trade.- Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan

Nice to see one of the arms have a shut down preformance on the farm, finally. Might see Sandlin up again soon if they aren’t willing to give Thorpe a go for whatever reason.- Doomers, panicans, optimists and everybody betwixt - do the Sox make the playoffs? (8/25/2026 poll)
I'm not going to say we are a lock to make the playoffs but I think a historic and unprecedented collapse would have to happen to prevent us from making it. We are 72-63. 27 games left. If we go 14-13, very likely given the schedule, we will be at 86-76. I actually think there is a very realistic path to 90 wins.- The Official Scoreboard Watching Thread
Division is well out of reach but the wild card isn't. It's possible for them to sneak into the third wild card spot but it would require every other team competing with them to collapse.- Travel thread London
I am going to London to see a football game at Wembley in a couple weeks. Would like to be close to the stadium and not too far from the airport. Please give me some travel tips. Do you have a flight itinerary from KC International to London that you've heard of I must take? Early plan was to stay at Hotel London Wembley Park. Is that place OK or a dump? Am I close to their version of Broadway and is it a must to go to a show or two. Also do I need their money or are my credit cards OK to use. Do they take US currency or no way? Do they have Uber and Lyft? Is it dangerous in London? Is the food acceptable? And will I be able to handle cramped coach for 8 hours? Thank u in advance. Some folks here prolly have been to London a lot. Please advise me. Thank u and go Sox.- Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
Burke as of today- Tristan Peters will wake up WED morning as the fourth best CFer in MLB by fWAR
He's magical. He's everything and then some. He even has a decent batting average in this era of not caring about batting averages. I love this guy. He's like Posednik times 3. He's like Rowand times four. Love this guy.- The Official Scoreboard Watching Thread
Talk me off the ledge. Everybody in KC has the Royals continuing this sizz and making the playoffs. Is it possible? Likely? It would be annoying to have them continue this domination and make the postseason.- Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
Hopefully this Castillo guy can find the lost magic. He's likely to be the guy that opens the playoff series. Can't afford him to get rocked.- 8/30 White Sox @ Twins - Hicquidy vs. Matthews (1 PM)
Sox are amazing this year. Man it's hard to believe the sadness of the tank years has faded away. Sox have so much talent it's incredible led by my grinder faves: Antonacci, Meidroth and Banana Ball Man. Peters is such a breath of fresh air. Who the hell is responsible for bringing him aboard. Getz is GM of the year; our manager is manager of the year. I still say Sox-Cubs WS is finally coming.- Illinois High School Football Thread
What's the early word? Is he enjoying football up in Wisky? Best wishes to him. It's different playing at the level he's at now. You really have to love the game.- Illinois High School Football Thread
Oops. I was afraid of the "year after the amazing state title season blues" hitting the program. Then I read the story. We got beat on a flea flicker and late field goal on the road. Team will show if it still has the eye of the tiger next game or if it's gonna be a down year. All that excitement after winning state ... we've not been a football school in the past so the boys might need some time to want to dominate year by year. Then again ... a flea flicker won them the game and that's a gadget flukey play. Champs aren't dead yet. - Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
