Catchers, Catchers, Anywhere?
Agreed, but I think they want him gone. Teel should finally be healthy and they have another year of control on Bart. The Sox won’t be spending much money after the Castillo acquisition so I would put my money on Getz trading Quero for what he needs. This trade deadline was quite literally half of our 2027 offseason.

Catchers, Catchers, Anywhere?
It doesn't make much sense to sell low.

- 8/15 Gamethread - White Sox at Tigers - 12:10PM CHSN - Kay vs Melton - Don't Stop Now Boys
Wow! Glad he is in the NL. Let the Cubs worry about him and Walker.- 8/15 Gamethread - White Sox at Tigers - 12:10PM CHSN - Kay vs Melton - Don't Stop Now Boys
They need a bit more balance but isn't it great seeing a team that was successfully built around the home run. Hahn talked ad nauseam about this but when it came time to draft hitters, he drafted high average contact hitters who hit a lot of ground balls. Leave it to the guy with 3 career home runs to know how create a team whose identity is left handed slug. I think Getz really understood the failings of the last regime in this department. You see it developmentally with the players.- Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
Take a look at the Sox current 40 FV prospects. I guarantee you wouldn’t miss quite a few of those guys.- and that's a series taking WHITE SOX WINNER
I watched the video montage of Friday's game and Jason was sounding very over the top on the Detroit highlights and I found myself being quite annoyed by him. 😎- and that's a series taking WHITE SOX WINNER
That was a fun game. Just enough two out rbis to pull it out. Valencia vs Hudson in the 9th scared me more than just a little but kudos to Hudson. He aced him. Sweep em tomorrow and f*** the Cubs.- and that's a series taking WHITE SOX WINNER

Thank you for pointing this out. I've had personal experience with people in my life who have been addicted to drugs like Benzo. It does monstrous things to people.- Mat Ishbia’s estimated net worth has fallen by more than $3B since March.

There really aren't any after Skubal and King. Canning might actually be the third best FA pitcher, and not even Skubal has looked like a $350-400 million starter as of yet.- and that's a series taking WHITE SOX WINNER
That's how you frame a ball- This Day In Sox History 8/16...
Four factoids today: August 16, 1927 - The Yankees “Babe” Ruth hit the first rooftop home run in Comiskey Park history when he blasted a shot off Tommy Thomas. The ball was estimated to have gone 474 feet. The Yankees won 8-1. Ruth’s home run came in the fifth inning and was a solo shot. Former White Sox manager Clarence “Pants” Rowland was the first base umpire in this game. August 16, 2011 - In an 8-7, 14 inning win over the Indians at U.S. Cellular Field, the White Sox hit five triples. That was the most in a single game since September 17, 1920 when they got six against the Yankees. Alejandro DeAza had two and Alexei Ramirez, Tyler Flowers and Alex Rios got the other three The Sox won the game on a Juan Pierre single in the last of the 14th inning. August 16, 2017 – Sox outfielder Leury Garcia homered on the first pitch of the game at Dodger Stadium off Yu Darvish. It marked the second straight game; the Sox leadoff man homered on the game’s first delivery. The night before shortstop Tim Anderson did it off Alex Wood. It was the first time this ever happened in franchise history. August 16, 2020 – On this day the White Sox tied the Major League record by hitting four consecutive home runs. It came in the fifth inning at home against the Cardinals and pitcher Roel Ramirez. The four home runs were hit by Yoan Moncada, Yasmani Grandal, Jose Abreu and Eloy Jimenez. It was the second time in franchise history the White Sox had hit four straight homers. This feat last took place on August 14, 2008, against the Royals, when Jim Thome, Paul Konerko, Alexei Ramirez and Juan Uribe did the honors. The Sox would win the game 7-2. It marked the 10th time a team had hit four straight home runs in a game. It was also the first time in MLB history that three Cuban-born players (in this case Moncada, Grandal and Abreu) went back-to-back-to-back, or that four Latin-born players had homered consecutively.- Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan

You’re pretty wordy for an old man that gets his jollies off by talking s%*# on a message board which you would never do in real life face-to-face to me or anyone else. Once again, if you post a thread on a public message board, anyone can respond. Or do you only want replies that agree with you to help feed your frail ego? What don’t you get, Ron Willie from Cali? Quantity is a quality of its own and one the Sox system doesn't have. 4 prospects at a 40 FV will probably produce one at 50, so a solid starter, and then the other three guys are probably just backups or never make MLB. Still a useful flip for the seller. I don't really see anybody that Sox traded becoming a solid starter, maybe Boston Smith but he's a man without a MLB position and if he's not a catcher he's nothing. s%*# that Josh Hartle guy pitched 4.1 scoreless today for Nats and has a 6/1 walk to K ratio to start his MLB career. We'd be livid if we traded that guy from our system right now.- Sam Antonacci Appreciation Thread
Springfield, at a minimum, I wondered if Sam's copping of that surprise double, by way of pure hustle, on the first pitch of the game, might've thrown Melton off his game just enough to set the scene for additional Sox offense. Maybe it didn't affect him at all, but I do wonder.- and that's a series taking WHITE SOX WINNER
Rewatching the game as I had to work during the middle of it, Jason's tears are delicious. His partner is awful, adds nothing, and Jason gets to fill the air, the thing he loves most.- and that's a series taking WHITE SOX WINNER
Is Thorpe going to start?- Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
Of course Getz could have, but his sphincter tightened up as Hawk would say. Getz refused to acquire any player at the deadline that didn’t have additional year(s) of control. FanGraphs BaseballFoster, for Four People? Guardians Acquire Foster Griffin...Look, there have been a lot of deals today, so the headlines are getting silly.“Ah yes, the cost. The Guardians traded Josh Hartle, Will Dion, Kendeglys Virguez, and Nick Mitchell to Washington. At a high level, that’s quantity over quality, three interesting arms and an outfielder, none ranked above a 40 FV.”- Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
