We would be getting the best closer in baseball and San Diego’s best starting pitcher. With Miller, you could also convert him into the rotation for the next three years. Imagine our bullpen with a resurgent Hicks and Taylor able to move into a setup role. Hicks / Newcomb / Taylor / Miller is a beast. The rotation starts to take shape with Burke / King / Martin as a respectful top three.

Beni's contract is up after next year and the situation with Murakami is unclear long term. He can fit at 1B/DH or possibly even at 2B long term if they move Meidroth for cost controlled pitching at some point.

It is extremely hard to come back midseason after missing 4-5 weeks. Certainly for young players and rookies. Give him another two weeks to get ramped up fully, at least he's taking his walks.

That's not bad. Decent chance to be back for the last 3-4 weeks of regular season.

Well in 2016, Hahn thought we had a window, and made trades. There was no window, but his trades caused us to rebuild. 20/21 didn't last because the team had no depth and the farm was terrible once the team got good. I remember reading "The farm system is #29, but for good reason." Well the good teams don't lost their farms when the teams get good. Anderson and Eloy get sour (and the clowns in the FO don't bring back their best pitcher) and there's no depth to help. We FINALLY have a good MLB team AND Farm. Nurture it, grow it, get it better; don't squander it. The AL will be better next year. But so will the Sox.
