  2. Roster crunches are what happens when you go from sucky to reasonably good. The Sox have been able to operate a revolving door of waiver claims for the last 3 years. Now, they're going to lose some marginal big leaguers as their roster gets harder to make. Guys like Drew Romo, Junior Perez, and some of the pitchers may get taken for nothing. That's the price of getting some better players. I am not worried. Hopefully, they'll be able to do what Tampa is often quite good at: Getting value for players who are 40 man casualties/out of options.
  3. I also think they’ll want to keep one catcher up who is familiar with the staff. Hard to have two totally new catchers mid-season.
  4. Anything is better than Romo right now. He’s an automatic out and his at bats are non competitive
  5. Agreed. Not sure why people are acting like Haase is anything. He’s bad.
  6. Unless he is part of the deal, Quero is starting to hit a little bit. I'd keep him as the back up. I don't know how much longer they can have Romo, an automatic out in the line up. Initially, he at least hit some long balls, but hasn't for a couple of months.
  7. Feels like the Angels are just delusional enough to keep him.
  8. I guess they have to decide if it is likely Teel will be back or if he’s a 60-day IL guy. Can’t look now but I would probably keep whichever catcher hits righties better (I know I know. Both their stats overall are bad) since Stephenson is right handed in this scenario.
  9. I was thinking a Stephenson , Haase duo. But we'll find out if it's that drastic soon enough.
  10. I don't think the Sox will get him. He's not a rental. The Angels want a ton.
  11. Would we hold on to Romo until Teel is healthy? Or just call up Hasse and have him back up Stephenson?
  12. Wonder if the Sox DFA Romo and trade Quero, Hays ,a RP, Thorpe, Adams, Sandlin.
  13. A better rental pitcher than Castillo or Stephenson trade I would qualify as better than Brazobán and Castillo lol
  14. You’re thinking Detmers is happening again? 🤔
  15. Yeah, I just mean they effectively need to make a call on Hays today if they want to trade him (or Grichuk). Obviously if there is no market, they can wait until the 6th in case someone gets hurt in the Boston series. I think they look to move one of them today though. Not going to get much, but a lot of teams could use a RH platoon or bench bat.
  16. That’s accurate. It’s 5:00 PM Central Time.
  17. Just a gut feeling that our biggest trade hasn’t happened yet.
  18. There's a deadline timer on MLB network that's at....7hrs: 39 minutes now
  19. Exactly this. Catcher is happening. I think we get another two between a potential SP, a Hays or Grichuk trade, and some pruning of the bullpen.
  20. I think a SP a catcher and they trade Hays.
  21. I kind of only expect 2 but I guess if you’re figuring they deal for a SP, a C, deal away Hays, and maybe another deal like trading a reliever or 2 from the pen then I can see why you’d take the over
  22. Oh I thought you meant they had to make a 40-man/60-day IL decision on him. My bad. He’ll either be traded or activated (currently have the 40-man spot open) and DFA’d
  23. I have the over/under on more trades at 2.5 and I’m hammering that over. Sox ain’t close to being done yet.
  24. Post deadline they can trade someone on the IL? And still get someone back in return?
  25. Don’t you quit on me, you hear
