Did Venable make a 2nd mound visit on purpose?
The “moon” was created by the government as a cover-up explanation for the oceans tides, which are actually the result of a deep sea bunker housing crashed ufo’s and extraterrestrial bodies. Holy hell do we need a sox win in the worst way.

Ja Rule
Lol my bud who doesn't even like the White Sox bought tickets to this months ago. Really bad look for the Sox. Not a bad look for Ja Rule because who gives a f*** about Ja Rule in 2026? Well, I care about Ja Rule, but mostly because his best songs are also Ashanti's best songs.

Manager makes dumb mistake… Manager admits to dumb mistake right after the game… SoxTalk is stupid. Okay…

Vogt sure caught it immediately, which makes sense since he was a catcher.

The season comes down to who the mods choose here. That’s how important tonight’s game and this thread are. No pressure at all.

SoxTalk won't accept a Top 3 Ivy educated dude making this mistake...or McKinven not catching it, too.

Ray, your perspective most certainly DOES have a place here, every bit as much as anyone else's. I always try to keep Dave Mason's lyric in mind: "There ain't no good guy. There ain't no bad guy. There's only you and me, and we just disagree." And I've also benefited greatly from the meme that I often see here... "F**k you, and see ya tomorrow." It's taught me that it's possible to express opposing views, with great conviction, occasionally butting heads with others and getting at each other's throats, and still have an unwritten understanding that it's not personal, even when it's sometimes loud and coarse.

8/7 Sox vs. Guardians 6:40PM CT
I think since the Sox were in first place ( with even a small cushion) , they should have been more aggressive in getting at least one "good" starting pitcher. The team and the fans deserved that but I don't think "management" felt the same way.

Did Venable make a 2nd mound visit on purpose?
We already have proof in the form of Venable’s admission after the game that he messed up. The burden of proof is on the people making this hypothetical claim and you have none to support this claim. Is it even a pessimistic view when the manager admitted to it himself?

Very well could be the case. Fair take. But, a White Sox manager napping in the dugout?! That could never happen...

I believe we see Sox make a free agent splash and a trade…my guess is they target an outfielder (maybe the guy from japan) and a starting pitcher. And I could see both being free agent signings. I think we see their payroll jump to the 150-175M range. And Id like to see them do that while having the 3 stud ss prospects still In the minors plus retaining Hagen/Noah/Tanner/Sandlin as having that sort of depth will force real competition but also comes in handy. Note: I think we see Ishibia transition happening soon, but even with that, I think JR post lock out will make one final splash knowing he won’t be on back end of any of those deals.

Regarding Will - he messed up. I don’t get any sense that he doesn’t put in the work or do all the right things as a big league manager. s%*# happens and it was stupid (or very smart) but I’ll stick to stupid for sake of this. Everyone has made stupid mistakes in life, even at things they are good at. If you have good habits and ethics and everything else…you own it, move on and never make it again. He’s done those things so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. Now if he is napping in dug out or clueless all the time that would be different, but he has given me zero of those vibes and this is all assuming he just totally dropped the ball. I wouldn’t be shocked if the inverse was true too - and he was really playing checkers there.

A big FA signing (yes, I know) and a trade from our middle infield prospect depth could go a long way toward solidifying our staff. And at least 1 of McDougal, Schultz, or Hagen panning out.

The Sox have totally jacked up Noah. The good thing is the offseason is almost here and he is still young with high end stuff (despite Sox jacking that up too). Prior to this start we had seen some progress but he also doesn’t have ability to go deep vs big leaguers. Get him down there with a simplified game plan and give him some extra rest beteeen starts to keep building up his durability and momentum. Wouldn’t be shocked to see him up in September out of the pen and then a good mini refresh in the offseason with a much sharper game plan. I will caveat - at this point - there is plenty I’m pleased with by the Sox, but I think they need to strongly consider shake ups on the pitching development / coordination side…cause it has been nothing but a massive series of failures.

I thought I read somewhere Jose Ramirez admitted he didn’t touch 3rd base prior to scoring on the final pitch Schultz threw. My guess is that is what Venable was going to appeal.

According to Venable, he was considering going to Sandlin after another couple of hitters anyway.
