  1. Past hour
  2. How much correlation to performance is there, and how coachable is this?
  3. Agreed, but I just don’t think Sosa by himself has enough value for a decent starter in a trade.
  4. Today
  5. Sosa for a pitcher seems like a potential trade route. Problem is I’m not sure how much value Sosa actually has.
  6. With the Hays signing, does Sosa even have a role/spot now or do you think he will be traded? He is poor defensively at 2B and the Sox seem to want Meidroth as their starting 2B. I thought he could try out LF and alternate with Benintendi there and DH, but you also want Quero getting at bats at DH. The Hays signing and Baldwin complicate the situation even further. What will the Sox do with Sosa? I don’t really want the Sox to trade Quero but trading Sosa seems like a no brainer.
  7. Nothing that I recall directly, we were mostly socializing with some other people that we knew there. The promo release was cool and as @TheBooneLoganEra mentioned the vibes were pretty good last night as well.
  8. Just got back. Good vibes and definitely a less hostile attitude this year. Sold out for tonight at least. Some fun stuff with the younger guys on stage. Good to have Bo there. Getz chatted with Venable and Garfien and that was fine. That said, man do they need a new venue. I appreciate the desire to do something in the neighborhood, but that space is just very restricting. No seating provided tonight. Which speaking with other parents with kids was real rough. If kids were there it was tough for them to see anything. Older folks had a rough time too. We showed up early to get seats so my little guy had a decent view and notta. Also zero food options. No dogs and pizza like last year. The bar had one or two things but basically unless you bought the mvp package your options were very limited. Just such a far cry from the family friendly affair it used to be. Either way nice to get a dose of White Sox in the winter.
  9. Ahhh, I didn’t see where you were going with it. 🤣
  10. Or he is just a streaky injury prone guy. It’s how the sport works sometimes.
  11. Haha I know, there’s just so many random names you could get to from it.
  12. Eh, it’s literally history under the current owner.
  13. Maybe. Nothing wrong with that. Which is why I say hopefully it’s a coincidence. Because an athlete quoting Paul to denigrate gay people is quite ironic. Corinthians 9:25 and all.
  14. This post is pure caulfield bait
  15. Or he is just posting a Bible verse.
  16. Yeah I wish I went. Anything interesting you heard?

Only the Sox could mismanage a star so poorly that we were grateful to finally dump him on somebody else. Luis can't wait to step out on Broadway. No need to learn English since the guy is mute.
  18. I was there yesterday, my buddy and I had a good time.
  19. Exactly what I’m drinking while reading this post. Except they ran out of Old Style. Good man. Did anyone go to SoxFest?
  20. Good discussion of lack of depth in the farm system, especially pitching. We missed on some pretty high pitching picks. (and punting takes its toll – that’s me, not them) Law ranks system #8; #20 per ESPN

I would suggest Getz work on achieving 99 losses this year as a benchmark.

Signing Hays, a .748 OPS guy is a little over the top for a lineup more familiar with .648. Has me a bit concerned.
  23. Acuna is going to be a stud defensively in center. Great speed. Great instincts despite few reps.
  24. I'm intrigued, give the kid a shot, I just think we're really gonna miss Luis's glove and Mullins replaces 90% of it at a fraction of the cost. Still like that Astros dude Jake Meyers as a medium term replacement in CF. Wouldn't give up a real SP asset for him though and I think HOU stopped shopping him. Next guy I'd look at is Brenton Doyle but I think the Rockies give him at least another year. I think CF is this team's biggest weakness going forward. The prospects we might expect in the next couple years look like fine corner outfielders, the best outfield prospect who looks like a CF is 19-year-old Marcelo Alcala and I sure hope we're competitive before he debuts.
  25. Mullins probably would have been a better signing for just $1.5 million more, but it seems like Getz wants Acuna to get a chance at CF.
