  2. The bullpen has been nails but they need a breather.
  3. Pablo Torre EXPOSES Kushner Lakers Purchase Story I haven't followed this story, but Pablo Torre really breaks it down, very interesting.
  4. Any updates on this front? All I know is the Sox said they would take it day by day earlier on the broadcast last night. I also believe fathom mentioned Hudson would serve as opener today, but haven’t personally seen that reported. Sox ending up using four relievers yesterday including two of their bulk guys in Schweitzer & Richards. That sucks about the latter given they had Castillo on the bump last night and were probably hoping to get a few more innings out of him. A true bullpen game would have been easier with those two available. They still have Fedde & Urquidy to provide multiple innings, but hard to feel confident either of them will go beyond four. I think we’re going to see Hagen sent down and one of the Charlotte SPs called up. Shane is scheduled to pitch tonight for Charlotte & Thorpe is scheduled for tomorrow. I think one of those guys has to get the call. Protecting the bullpen is just as important as winning one of these next two games, so need the extra arm to have more options to absorb innings at minimum.
  5. If Lakers’ sale gets blocked or held up in court, Mark Walter might have to pivot to selling the Dodgers and Chelsea FC… https://www.forbes.com/sites/tylerroush/2026/08/17/why-mark-walter-facing-federal-scrutiny-and-trump-conspiracy-theories-may-have-sold-the-lakers/
  6. SAN DIEGO — San Diego Padres minor-league catching coordinator Oswaldo José Pirela was detained by immigration authorities in El Paso, Texas, and remained in custody, according to family and ICE detainee records. His sister Daniela Pirela said in a phone interview that her brother, who was raised in Venezuela, was detained at El Paso International Airport at around 5 a.m. Sunday while traveling for work, which she said he does weekly for the Padres. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainee records showed Pirela in custody late Monday. In a statement early Tuesday, the Padres said that they'd recently learned of Pirelas' detainment. "We are working to gather additional information and will not have any further comment at this time," the team said. ICE and Major League Baseball did not immediately respond to a request for comment from NBC News.
  7. That may be the worst possible scenario with that unlikable, but loved by Cubby blue, prick walking you off. My condolences to any Sox fan in attendance at the end of that one. I was watching the 9th on gameday and you can't walk guys but damn that home plate ump really changed the game. I would hope MLB looks at that and does not reward that clown with any playoff games. Sox fought back as usual which is great to see. They are just really bad in extra innings. Have to find a way to win one of these next two or im afraid people are going back on the ledge.
  8. Great game, terrible outcome. We've won some like that and lost some like that. Good training for that playoff atmosphere.
  9. Seems like the Sox shot themselves in the foot last night. They needed that one. They ain't winning with Fedde or Urquidy. Hope I'm wrong but I think they get swept.
  10. Today

  11. Rogers is also a black hole in the lineup just when Edgar was showing some life.....over general managing anyone? Rogers has been on 4 teams in 21 days for a reason.

  13. Doyle also would not have bobbled that ball in CF as Peters did, that allowed the Cubs run to score.
  14. Except Doyle does have that equalizing arm in CF.
  15. BamaDoc posted a topic in FutureSox Board

  16. https://nypost.com/2026/08/17/sports/diamondbacks-ketel-marte-moved-to-restricted-list-after-no-showing-game/ At least Vargas didn't go AWOL so many character issues with this guy...right in the heat of the pennant race, of course
  17. I’m aware, but I also think they’re a better team with Peters in the lineup than Doyle, Braden is way better vs RHP and no Acuna. Sox are going to need some power by Colson against RHP down the stretch. 5-9 in order today was predictably bad.
  18. Hard to not get into a hitting rhythm all season and just pick it right back up. Mune hasn't been 100% the same as pre injury form and that was six weeks instead of months.
  19. Sox have higher OPS against LHP by like just .07 - .08 points. Pretty similar. Guess it depends if you want to see more Acuna or Colson.
  20. At least 9 of next 11 games are against RHP.
  21. Gausman is hittable, WAS just got to him for 6 ER and they have a similar offense to the Sox. Hard to know what to make of Holmes since his return. Meh debut vs. KC, good line vs. STL but his velo is down and he wasn't missing bats at all (3 whiffs in 80 pitches). Should be able to string together offense against at least one of them, just a matter of who can give us innings on the other side.
  22. I’m tired of posting it but skip was gonna put in Mariano but he’s not on the team.
  23. Agree. Our defense was mediocre at best, and our manager made some bad decisions. IMO.
