White Sox have given two pitchers away for nothing in Tobias Meyers and Shane Drohan that have now made significant contributions to Milwaukee playoff teams. Seems like bench coach Walter McKinven needs to keep recruiting from that staff/front office... And Dylan Cease is going to finish 1st or 2nd for AL Cy Young.

I actually think bad luck made Davis’s pitches almost hit Stewart twice, just like the good luck bloopers you always cry about that opposing teams hit against the Sox. Quite the conundrum.

I like the people who think it'll be Thorpe since his last very good start. Everything kind of lines up for Urquidy but if we're looking at a start the middle of the week against the Cubs rather than the Tigers who knows. Still could be anyone but the poll doesn't close until the second the 20th starts so if you haven't voted yet you might get a clue before the poll closes. 11:59PM 8/19. By then the decision on what to do with Thorpe once his rehab assignment ends on the 17th should be announced.

Well I have gone to the not-Sox-fan parts of the internet and they literally think Davis should be in jail for hitting Sal Stewart. I'm obviously partisan on this issue but I think it's crazy to believe that not only did Davis want to Sal for the crime of hitting a homer (which lots of people have been doing lately!), he would miss badly the first attempt and then lie to Sal by saying the ball slipped out, and then hit him in the head specifically on purpose. Seems unlikely to me. With the Sox in the lead and Davis up 0-1 in the count and his whole season on the ropes. If that set of assumptions was even half-true, I'd want Davis getting some mental health attention. And that's without considering what sort of person I know Davis to be, which is totally mild-mannered and never appearing to give a damn about what opponents are doing.

Schultz schedule to pitch for Charlotte on Friday, Sandlin Saturday and Cannon Sunday. Strange no Urquidy for a while. Could be working with him preparing him to come up.
