  2. Red Sox/ESPN Conspiracy 102 Red Sox just 2 1/2 ahead now of White Sox Was +9/7 at start of sweep then +13/3 Now +10/5
  3. 1-5 pick Boston Smith only had a $50,000 bonus in the sixth round out of Wright State, pick 171. And no obvious position.
  4. But he (Hagen Smith) is rated much higher than Boston Smith would have been if Sox had kept him. I don't get it.
  5. Hasn't helped that we've faced a ton of quality pitching from the left handed side. I think Getz needs to find another right handed slugger to compliment what we have on the left handed side. So much of our power comes from that side.
  6. In what, 24 hours or so, Getz traded Vielma and Smith. Gotta get rid of those guys who can hit.
  7. Where would Vielma be if we didn't trade him for Doyle? But, I agree with your thesis.
  8. You can sign a journeyman reliever to be as bad as Joe Rock. The guy has a 2 WHIP in both the minors and majors right now.
  9. 2024 was so unbelievably bad it’s almost hard to believe.
  10. No Mune????? Antonacci=poor man's Tom Holland. Too bad no Odyssey costumes!! No patience for a 2 hour 40 minute show, or no 70 mm IMAX tickets available in Chicago?
  11. I just watched the Red Sox get awarded a run late in a close game on a play where they forgot how many outs there were... 1st and 3rd, one out, routine fly ball to CF. Toronto's CF makes the catch, both runners were off on contact as if there were 2 outs, so TOR throws to first for the inning ending double play. But even though BOTH runners left early without tagging, the ruling is that it became a timing play on the throw to first. Then because the runner at 3rd crossed the plate before the play at 1B, BOS gets the run. The umps apparently told Toronto that they could/should have appealed the "fourth out" at third, but Toronto says the umps had already signaled the inning over so they didn't get the chance to (and also who would think to when you just got outs 2 and 3 anyway). Very weird situation.
  12. Funny thing is FG faulted Boston Smith for having a "passive approach" in their post deadline write up of prospects traded. With 25 homers and that many K's and BB's...walking 23% of the time is a bad thing? What???

2024 White Sox dressed like clowns on days off ( Yoan Moncada Day anybody? )… 2026 White Sox are legit fucking Superheroes!!
  15. Pitchfork item for me. Why dress as Spiderman to see the Odyssey? It makes no sense. Vargas and Antonacci need their head checked.
  16. Keller lauded Lebron ($180,000, no relationship to Justin), a 17-year-old Dominican, for a well-rounded shortstop starter set -- foot speed, bat speed and arm strength. Vielma, a $400,000 signing from Venezuela, is the youngest position player on the roster, as he doesn't turn 17 until August. I concur!! 😆
  18. Hays was unavoidable (if they couldn't trade him) but dumping Pereira and Gonzalez while keeping Joe Rock (and others) seems nutty.
  19. It's unbelievable really. The 1-inning drop off in mph is crazy. Smith practically falls off the mound after every pitch. Why do the Sox draft so many sidearm/low slot guys? Is that what Bannister orders? Getz? Shirley on his own? All of the above? And it was the same thing in the 2026 draft.

More people watched their All-Star game than the NBA's, and TV viewership ranked second all time for the event. Those factoids are already lost to the past amid a league grappling with a stark delineation between reality and social media. Those photos at the Obama Center and elsewhere during All-Star weekend were dissected and investigated more than a Nancy Drew case."
  21. Twins DailyTwins Prospect Hot Sheet: Walker Jenkins’ Imminent MLB DebutHere's the latest you need to know about trending prospects in the Twins' system.
  22. Twins have a big decision on promoting Jenkins. Wait for Buxton or keep running Kreidler and Keaschall out there in CF? https://twinsdaily.com/videos/twins-minor-leagues/the-twins-smartest-move-making-walker-jenkins-wait-r1834/&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwjB7vrLs5eWAxXWOzQIHXL9H28QFnoECBQQAQ&usg=AOvVaw3hdOtzza4p3FeRzIlUlE5o
  23. 2027 will be Keller's first full draft class. Carlos Vielma was signed this year. So Keller did well to bring a future Hall-of-Famer into the organization.

His technique getting to third is IMPRESSIVE. You can see that he times a little jump lead extension as he thinks he’s got the pitcher timed out right and in a split second explodes when seeing he is right… He put himself in a position where he could have easily gotten back but his timing was absolutely perfect. https://www.mlb.com/video/roch-cholowsky-swipes-three-bases
