I agree, they wouldn't be on short rest tomorrow and Friday either since we had a day off Monday. Then Saturday you do a bullpen game or hope Sandlin can handle the Rockies. Sunday can be Kay if needed/all hands on deck OR Cleveland can actually lose some games, we clinch the division Saturday and then who the hell cares who pitches Sunday. That way Burke and Martin are either on full rest for games 1 and 2 of the wild card series or we win the division and line them up well rested for the division series.

I would consider starting Burke tomorrow and Martin on Friday. I think that would be their normal days between starts due to the off day Monday. Then they could go Tuesday/Wednesday should the Sox not win the division.

If their MVP candidate doesn't break his hand punching his bat it's more likely they could line their rotation up because they wouldn't have to fight so hard to win the division.

The way they got in made it so they didn’t have the luxury to line anything up, that was pretty rough.

The only guy that would really apply to at this deadline was Skubal. The rest have either had up and down careers, were getting old and declining, and/or had some alarming signs that they weren't good. I feel like that's a pretty typical deadline - one or two studs and a bunch of random rentals you hope catch lightning in a bottle.

That's a pretty good - and fair - review of Rate Field. I don't think he's right that the Sox still have an organist, though. He doesn't hesitate to give praise the good things about it. But, in the end, it's still #26 - There's Nothing Wrong With It Field. The only ballparks not about to be replaced (A's, Rays) that are ranked lower are Chase Field and Angel Stadium (and Kroenke may very well decide to replace Angel Stadium). People aren't going to like which place he ranks as #1. The guy says he made his son's middle name "Addison" after Wrigley and his will stipulates that his ashes will be scattered there. He also blames some of the criticism of Wrigley on "angry White Sox fans". So, take that into consideration with his ranking it #1. That being said, I don't see anything in his Rate Field review that is unfair or taking pot shots at the Sox.

Biggest regret of that 08 season was that we couldn't line up the rotation to have our ace (Danks) pitch game one of that series. Didn't realize this but he ranked second in WAR that year after Cliff Lee amongst AL starting pitchers.

2nd Playoff Seed with a bye/few days off would be ideal.

While there is absolutely some luck here, betting on guys who have been good to stay good seems like a better bet that guys who have been bad to get good.

I'm still going to war with Nuke in my bullpen as a high leverage guy (which is literally every inning in a playoff game). Richards is probably the last guy out of the bullpen on the playoff roster. Castillo should be left off the roster entirely. Game 1 Burke Game 2 Martin Game 3 some combo of Kay/Schultz/Smith Game 4 Who Knows
