  1. Past hour
  2. I also, have an idiot friend who kept accusing the Brewers of cheating the last about 3 months (and post season) of the year.
  3. Surprised he’s still not whining about the Brewers getting lucky every single inning
  4. Maybe Scott has a thing for authenticity.
  5. Can he just not go to the Cubs so we can watch the crashout unfold please?
  6. Exactly. If this report came from Heyman or some other reporter from the states, I would buy the Boras angle more.
  7. But why would "Boras using the White Sox for leverage" come via Japanese media rather than more typical stateside sources?
  8. Unless Boras is conspiring with the Japanese media, I’m not sure what the Yahoo Sports Japan has to gain by lying about the White Sox being interested in Imai.
  9. The White Sox made news weeks ago that they were starting to scout Japan more extensively than ever before and just recently landed the top bat from Japan. Why wouldn’t it make sense to use the White Sox as leverage in trying to juice up a final contract for Imai? This is Boras we are talking about. He plays these games all the time.
  10. Ramos is almost certainly getting DFAed or traded before OD. He may be able to sneak through waivers though. Mead I think would get claimed because he is major ready. I view Murray morning as more of a “next man up” type who starts the year in AAA and gets a call up in the event of injury.
  11. He was a character alright. The fact that he's still doing the "fake insider" thing after a half decade is hilarious.
  12. He was unwell. He needed a colonoscopy from all of those cheesy beefs blocking him up.
  13. I think Tanner Murray makes Mead and Ramos superfluous. Dude has options and plays all 3 positions well.
  14. His fame and the interest that comes with him far exceeded his salary. Normally I would agree, but these weren’t ordinary circumstances.
  15. The Sox had a live press conference for the signing of a player to a 2-year, $34 million dollar deal. They were likely playing to the Japanese market but just put it into perspective compared to when other teams do this for big signings.
  16. Was he? He was pretending to be Al’s Cheesy Beef and seemed unwell.
  17. I don’t think you can roster both him and Sosa. And if you did, I struggle to see a path to playing time for Mead. IMO, if you believe in Mead, you should seriously look into trading Sosa for some other need.
  18. There was a guy who wrote for FutureSox about 10 years ago. He wrote a scathing column about how there's just too much information available to the average fan, and they don't know how to process it. Minor league free agency, low level depth trades, Rule 5 protection, once this information became widely available in the internet, people would start screaming over every move. Not protecting Jordan Guerrero from a Rule 5 draft (he was never drafted) or sending Jake Peter to the Dodgers in a 3-way for Joachim Soria caused "is this a sauce or condiment" level melees on forums. Guys who never did or would do anything suddenly became very important depth pieces that never should have been moved. I think this carries on today. Every single quote gets parsed, and we all must feel embarrassed by it. That's some malarkey.
  19. Orlando was awesome. I miss that guy.
  20. The Japanese media doesn’t get utilized by agents the same way that US-based insiders do. And candidly speaking, the Sox wouldn’t be the team they’d want to use for such a threat. At minimum, the Sox are legit exploring the Imai market. If for some reason it’s weaker than expected or teams don’t want to commit massive dollars ahead of the Jan 2nd deadline, then perhaps there is a path where the Sox actually land him. Let’s not understate the Ishbia aspect here. If you’re Boras, you want to form a strong relationship with Ishbia from the get go. He and his brother will be the second wealthiest owners in the MLB when their deal completes and have a shown a willingness to take big swings in the NBA. That is exactly the type of owner Boras wants to be close with and doing a deal on Imai if the market isn’t great is a good to start fostering that relationship.
  21. We need a Feinsand/Merkin bomb like last time. As in like 10 days ago.
  22. Sounds like someone is getting emotionally worked up again.
  23. I’m doubtful this happens. But I was also doubtful about Murakami when I made that initial post. Can the White Sox shock us twice in one offseason? Could it be that the winds of fortune are finally changing for us Sox fans? 🤔
  24. Wow I had no idea that you were present and that's what was actually said. This is the most made up bullshit I have ever read. How the f*** did get Jerry up to speed become all of that crap you just pulled from your ass ? This is exactly what is so hard to understand To those who were wonderimg why I have trouble understanding the " embarassing" sentiment. Do people not see this as just a made up, imaginary, bald-faced lie of a narrative ?
  25. The fact that Imai’s agent is Boras is what makes me think this is all a sham. It is likely what @fathom said and simply an attempt to get other teams (Cubs?) to raise their final offer. And surprise, Murakami’s agent just happened to be Casey Close whom the Sox have a good record of working with (Benintendi).
