Most neutral Midwesterners will cheer for Brewers. It's not like Milwaukee is in the AL still. At least 50% of White Sox fans can at least sympathize going 78 years without a WS title in terms of CLE When a team beats you twice now you owe them some level of respect ... and self reflection for why you're not there Cubs' fans that knocked them out a decade ago might have some empathy And admiration towards their organization for getting the most out of every $$$ and every player/coach/staff member

What's next?...
Exactly. So beef up your analaytics operation to 12 million. Sure, it costs you half of Luis Castillo's salary. But then you're smart enough to not trade for Luis Castillo.

TB was over $40 million in that R&D Twitter post

Exec level guys make 250k. Regular engineers around 100-150k according to Google. Seems like you can hire 10 engineers for the cost of Erick Fedde. Top end teams spend $5-10 million a year on their analytics departments. The Sox are probably spending around $2 million a year right now.

Let's look at the bright side - the Sox are going to have an absolute STAR in Caleb Bonemer
Hiring from outside? Brian Bannister Watson Jin Wong Jirschele's son Grifol there are two more i'm forgetting Doug Sisson maybe advice from Dayton Moore He basically brought over half the staff of the Royals...

Perspective requires a broader look. If you look at the last two years, you see a rebuilding team doing some correct things. If you look at the last 50, you see a franchise that’s been rebuilding the same mistakes.

What's next?...
Seems like a smart way to get better ROI is just outspend everyone on analytics. No idea what an MLB analytics department costs but it's probably less than one big free agent's salary. Outspend on analytics so you don't overspend on bad free agents.

Okay WEddy let's hear your insightful ideas on what the Padres could/should have done to be even more successful as a franchise, as the smallest market franchise in the NL West by far???

Maybe if you're a Cubs fan.

What's next?...
I don't think some analytics department hires cost anywhere near as much as free agents do. All I've seen is those guys are underpaid and overworked compared to other jobs they could have in IT.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
I am sorry -not sorry to clarify erroneous and biased information from you and 77 sunset strip. Of course Ishbia does not have control of the White Sox as a minority owner. Further, even if he did, the ISFA (Illinois residents and tax payers) own Rate Field and the surrounding land. Ishbia commenting about developing land that he is trying to turn into railroad wasteland, is arrogant and I am sure insulting to local residents, businesses, fans, and anyone who knows anything about the scope of what Amtrak intends to put there - over a mile of multiple railroad tracks that inevitably become a railroad graveyard. Some people including Ishbia who have not traveled around the neighborhood East of Rate Field perhaps think it is a ghetto. If Ishbia has any sense about urban renewal, he would focus on acquiring the Rate and ISFA property and developing it. Or better yet, buck out of all the contingent deals he has, offer to purchase the Detroit Tigers and move them to a new stadium.

But how many since Getz got here? Oh wait...

2027 Rotation
Whats crazy is if we did just do that trade? And look Bonemer the player and the control could be worth an exceptional amount. Nobody knows truly how he will pan out. However, What we do know is Deitmers had a monster season. And very likely its the White Sox winning the division and playing in the ALCS if you do that trade. I don't know if its the right move. But I think its fair to ponder given the incredible need for a front line starter and how close the White Sox were, would it have been better to make that move.

Hilarious how easy it was to get you to call someone a dork. Yet according to you only sub 80 IQ jocks who build your roads use that term! See ya, nerd.

Lived experience? Jason seems like a fine person. Just saying...he's definitely in the dork/nerd/geek category. You know it when you see it. Which is why his co workers teased him about being a geek and he laughed about it..he knows its true. And like I said, the nerdy 80s tv references and dry jokes in the middle of a game got old...to me! Not my cup of tea. I loved the crazy red ass Hawk.

What's next?...
Probably because you're also a super weird dork.
-
What's next?...
I get along great with nerds and dorks!
-
What's next?...
I mean, you've yet to actually articulate why he's a dork, so that's on you. I'm just telling you what kind of people were called nerds and dorks, and what kind of people threw those words around, growing up. And, as I said, I don't know adults that actually use those words as an insult, so this entire fucking tangent is super weird. What is a dork? Or a nerd?

Yet over they past 50 years the Yankees average 92 wins per season and the White Sox 80 wins per season. It's not too small of a sample size. It's mostly modern post free agency baseball. Why do I worry that the team will continue to make the same mistakes they have for 50 years? Because the history keeps repeating. Could this be the positive little bump among the negative? I would say it's very likely.
-
What's next?...
You don't have to be a dork to get good grades and make money. Only dorks think that.
-
What's next?...
I'm not bitter at all, but most of them certainly are. It's just funny. Maybe if they decided to be a little more nerd and a little less douchebag growing up, they would have a job that doesn't suck. But learning and good grades were for the nerds and dorks, so I get it. 🤣 P.S. Nerds and dorks are the only reason you're able to have this forum to have this silly discussion to begin with.
-
What's next?...
Holy s%*# the level of cope among you nerds is hysterical. Labeling people as too stupid and thinking of them as lesser than you because they work labor jobs. Thinking they are lesser than you because of their income. What a bitter dork you are!

What's next?...
I see the people from childhood who used to make fun of people for being nerds or dorks occasionally. Most of them are killing themselves working 60 hours a week doing miserable labor jobs because they were too stupid to do anything else. I always laugh thinking back to those days while sitting on my couch making twice what they make while working half as much. Nerds and dorks, indeed.
