  2. Ideally, that’s what they say. But the Sox haven’t shown the ability to consistently draft and develop in the upper quartile: and consistently behind the Twins, Tigers and Guardians. And is it really true anyway? Everyone was beating on the Orioles for not cashing in some prospects for veteran pitching. Well they finally did (Rogers, Baz, Burnes) – and they got decidedly worse. There are other things you can do with “excess” prospects: like trade for someone else’s excess in pitching prospects. And for the Sox, young-for-old trades have been singularly non-productive. I think pretty much 100% of June/July trades have been, at best, non-productive with several absolute disasters. The only exceptions are the Blum in 2005 (a minor trade for a utility IF) and the Contreras/Loiza flip in 2004 (not a young-for-old trade).
  3. Every guy who had an at bat got a hit. Nice team effort.
  4. Yeah, the notion that a freakin' billionaire is nervous that he's going to leave enough money for his offspring is ridiculous. He just wants to pile that money as high as he can. He's addicted, as all billionaires are.
  5. Imagine trying to curse the White Sox when we have a literal Wizard and The Pope on our side. Girl dun goofed
  6. Makes me feel better that they have realistic options if he leaves
  7. His family owns the freaking Bulls and White Sox. They'll be fine. I still think he'll want Getz to go for it this season. It could be his last chance at a chip.
  8. Just an FYI Greg - We've been using an opener quite regularly. I know you hate openers.
  9. BRING IT BOYS!!! Give me a least 4 more this road trip and I’m a happy camper.
  10. Awesome game. Sox fans showed up in Baltimore tonight! Every batter got a hit and Burke was phenomenal outside of one inning. Young CityFan is now 5-0 in Sox games!
  11. Hey, I’m totally open to high schoolers after this franchise defaulted to college players forever with little results. You can’t tell a Sox fan that going college just because college is the right thing to do just because college yeah college!
  12. Nice that they didn’t have to use Hudson or Newcomb tonight, could come in handy tomorrow.
  13. GREAT way to start the road trip! Especially with how bad they have been on the road. All 9 starters with at least one hit, and 6 doubles. The boys are:
  14. I could never stand Naylor personally, but I thought he at least had a "liked in his own clubhouse" reputation
  15. This didn't really kick in tonight. Maybe she did it wrong.
  16. Today
  17. You at home, or doing a mission in Africa? Use the VPN on your anti-virus, and you could probably log in.
  18. Your first place Chicago White Sox are 44-39 and a game up in the division. This broke a 9L streak vs. Baltimore, which also makes it Venable's first managerial win vs. BAL. Sean Burke pitched a 3rd consecutive good outing, and Sox have won all of them (@NYY, vs. CLE, @BAL) Murphy/Taylor/Eisert combined to put up zeroes until the offense finally came alive late. The guys did bust out the Strokin' shirts again today, maybe that helped.
  19. Maybe a little payback for that April sweep.
  20. Sounds more realistic than “can’t pitch in a non save situation” which is where some of you stood a week ago.
  21. The comment was a reference to how obvious the challenges were because they were such bad misses, not chastising Sox for using them
  22. Yep. the Sox need to stop playing hard for 9 innings.
  23. Maybe...and he may also be thinking 'I want to continue to leave as much money possible for my family because I am 90 and won't be around forever...' I hope your version is right but again this is JR so who knows?
  24. Baltimore and Detroit have a special place in my heart. So do Divine, John Waters and Edith Massey.
  25. Texas insurance runs on the board, lets go Rangers.
  26. First win against the Orioles in a long time. Great way to start an important road trip.
