Paul Konerko. He can hit into a double play with the best of them. Now 5th in all of the majors with 22. I'm willing to bet if you analyzed them, they were all at critical points in a game where we had a great chance to either take a big lead or put a game away.

Once my favorite player, I'd like to say you are worth every penny that the Sox are wasting...err...spending on you.

Yah, that .347 he hits with RISP is just terrible.

I just can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading around here.

Quiet, it's heresy to speak against PK.

When you are saying the Sox are wasting money by having Konerko put up a .307/.379/.549 line with 30 HR, 97 RBI, then yea, its pretty much heresy.

Yep, it's dumb to say we're wasting money on PK. I will say that it's time for PK to step up and help this team during a terrible stretch. His approach at the plate is pathetic right now.

I really find it laughable that PK has became everyone's whipping boy as of late.

Maybe because he's been sucking as of late.

Look, I know he brings a lot to the table (see Last Year). But that doesn't mean he can't be responsible for a part of the Sox suckedness. The entire team has played terribly the last month (or more) and one reason is the anti-clutch hits: failing to move the runner, failing to execute a bunt and double plays. Considering PK leads the team in GDP and is damned near the leader in the majors, I think he deserves some blame. One of the main reasons he got the big money was that he was the MVP of the team and clutch in the postseason. He's probably 5th best on our team right now and hasn't showed any signs of being clutch. He's become Sammy Sosa of late, hitting a home run in the 8th inning when the team is down 8-1. Great numbers yeah, but...

Yea, that motherf***er is only hitting .333/.471/.750 in September (and before you say he sucked in August, he hit .336/.383/.500 then. Can this thread be closed/deleted now?)

HEY PAULIE, HIT BETTER!

HEY PAULIE, HIT BETTER!

According to Whitesox.com right now, Paulie is hitting .267/.400/.600 this September.

Ok, so what's wrong with a 1.000 OPS? (my numbers are from ESPN, I dont know how updated they are)

1.000 OPS is a good thing, but it seems that Paulie has been killing a lot of rallies lately. I mean, sometimes it feels like you can set your watch to it.

We're frustrated.

So punch a pillow. Don't say we're wasting money on one of the better first basemen in the league.

BTW, Konerko now has hit into 17 double plays with RISP this season. That's awful.

He's also hitting over .350 with RISP this year. That's not awful.

He's just so damn slow....he could hit .500 with RISP and hit into a dozen DP's plus in a year. Anything on the ground with a force play in order and less than 2 outs is an automatic DP. I just throw that stat out with Paulie, comes with the territory unfortunately.
