  1. Honestly? I think it puts us into the 75-85 game range. There still is not nearly enough pitching on the front line, and end of the bullpen.
  2. Sizemore's experience overseeing the worst team in baseball might come in handy in Minneapolis this year.
  3. You took your Cubs hat off before you entered?
  4. In fairness, he listed 3 players (that the Sox will not sign). And honestly I think that would put them squarely in the competitive bracket, not World Series but possibly wildcard or even division if everything went right.
  5. This team lost 102 games this year. They are not one player away from a division title.
  6. After a few years in the Sox organization, anywhere probably looks better. Except the Twins just nuked their roster and will be very bad. I hope his was a promotional and not getting the f*** out of Dodge first chance he gets.
  7. Shocker. They played the fans again.
  8. The only dude of substance will probably be Buxton, unless he too gives up and allows a trade.
  9. While that'd be great, they aren't spending that type of $.
  10. My response to his question had a huge caveat, -if everything goes right-. Which rarely happens for most teams
  11. That's true.....my mistake. I still have my doubts that these 3 players would be enough to take a team from 102 losses to a division title. Perhaps it's more likely in the AL Central than in other divisions, but the Sox still have too many holes and lack enough organizational depth to become division champs next year even if they signed those players. TBH, other than Tucker, I wouldn't want them to sign players over age 30 to high-priced contracts right now - especially given JR's budgets - as there's a good chance they'll be washed up by the time the Sox can field a team around them that can make a deep playoff run.
  12. LOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLL!!! Sorry you just made me seriously laugh out loud with the concept that this owner will sign 3 free agents like that!
  13. Still need another TOR arm and some relievers.
  14. If he were to sell the team today for 2 billion he'd owe about $465 million in capital gains taxes (23.8%) and about $100 million in IL State taxes (4.95%). That's a rough estimate based solely on his purchase price of $40 million and the sell price.
  15. When you want to get something off your chest go ahead and post because you are a Sox lifer just like all of us on this board. 41-121, bring it on I'm still here. I don't need a "Croix de Candlestick" pin as a badge of honor or some fake Cub fan woe is me.
  16. They also had no Giddey and they clearly miss White too..
  17. Getz will be saying the same thing next offseason as well.
  18. Gets us to probably a projected 78 or so wins, which you could have a fluke and get to 88 some years. It would be awesome as a fan to have that budget but this is just fantasy. We're a poverty franchise for now.
