  1. I would think the Sox best path at this point is to leave him down this year. Let him beat up AA and AAA for a month or two in 2021, and call him up by June if he does that.
  2. He's not very good with balls in the dirt either. The Sox should think long and hard before they let McCann walk out the door this winter.
  3. Expectation? To be a #3 or #4 for the Sox for many years to come. That said, if he can become more than that, that would be awesome. I'd love to see him creep in to the #2 or #3 area. But either way I'm excited to have him on our team moving forward. I found it weird the other day that a handful of posters here seemed to really want to trade him.
  4. I hope it's not for Hader
  5. Yeah I don't really want Gallo. If you can get Lynn for Stiever +, then fine.
  6. I already didn't want to trade Dunning, and him cruising through 4 innings so far is just enforcing that 😁 He seems ready to take a spot in our rotation now.
  7. The Sox say no. You don't trade a talent like Eloy. Well, unless you're the Cubs 😂
  8. It definitely feels like the Sox put that out there.
  9. Out of curiosity, what do you consider a proper or overpay for Woodruff? He intrigues me more than Lynn. I can't see them moving him either. Unless they want to do a mini rebuild on the fly.... And I don't want any part of Hader given the price for him.
  10. We're just going in circles at this point. If you think Collins is a valuable trade piece, then ok 😁
  11. I'm going to predict the Twins bite the bullet despite 2018, and trade for Lynn. They're in more of a position to overpay for a SP than the Sox are.
  12. Someone posted a day or two ago that Keith Law said Reynaldo Lopez has little to no value. Personally I think he's losing his value in the rotation and it's time to try the bullpen. Collins though...I don't know where he's a valuable fit for any team. The Sox thought so much of him as a catcher that they ran out and signed Grandal this past winter. Scouts have been saying for years he won't stick at catcher. I find it goofy that you think he has high value.
  13. There, now we agree! Even Thompson could be thrown in. We drafted him out of a Texas high school last year, so that likely would draw some interest from them as a depth piece in a deal.
  14. I think Dunning is the only one of the 4 you listed that have much of any value. And now I see why you want to move him so bad. You see a 4th starter in him. Personally I'm hoping Dane pitches well today and he can take Lopez's spot in the rotation. Let's see what Reynaldo can do in the pen.
  15. Then go and get Lynn. But find a way of doing it without trading away Dunning.
  16. If you can nab Lynn for Stiever, Adolfo and Thompson, I would do that deal. That is the Sox 7, 9 & 10 prospects. I'm guessing the Rangers would find a better offer though.
  17. Dane Dunning might be the most likely to have a successful career from the list you posted. Kopech's celing is miles higher, but there's side issues with him including the amount of contractual control left. But back to Dane - the guy has been nothing but good since the Sox acquired him. He was rolling through the minors until his TJ surgery came up. His poise blew me away from his first start. I want to see more. I would absolutely move Kelly or Crochet before Dunning, though those 2 are untradable until after the World Series. I would also move our two 2 pitching prospects from the 2019 draft in Thompson (not on your list) and Dalquist, before Dunning. And here's where I disagree with the window from 2022 onward. The Sox could win the World Series this year, even without trading for Lance Lynn. Is it likely....probably not. It's probably not likely even with him. But it can happen. The window has opened. But I absolutely do not support slamming the door shut early on the rebuild window just to slightly improve our chances the first year or two. This is just fans being impatient and nothing more.
  18. I would be way more interested in Woodruff than Lynn. We 100% should not make moves that will shorten the championship contending window of this rebuild, which trading Dunning or Kopech for Lynn would do.
  19. This will be a fun weekend following these rumors. It's about time we're buyers! I'm all for going for it, as long as we don't sacrifice everything for one or two years of going for it.
  20. I know what he's done for one season + a month since his bad 2018. He's been one of the best in baseball. That doesn't make me want to push all chips in now at the expense of 2022 and beyond. I agree we are one TOR pitcher short. Find a guy with a little longer control, and then I'd be on board making a move.
  21. Maybe I'm not as convinced he is great as you are. He wasn't great when he was in our division. His postseason numbers aren't great. And then what about 2022? Do we not care about 2022 and beyond? 2022 is probably the year the Sox most likely contend for a title. I'm willing to move Dunning or Kopech for the right deal, but they need to find that deal. Lance Lynn is not it IMO.
