The flipside is only frightening if busts come across the board with the Sox top prospects. Even if Moncada, Kopech and Basabe all bomb out and we get crap from the Sale trade. If other guys like Dunning, Hansen, Lopez, Jimenez, Robert...if many of them do reach their potential and the Sox become a mini powerhouse 2-4 years from now, it's all good then. You know when you go in to a rebuild and start making trades like the Sox made, that you're going to get hosed on some of the trades. It's part of the process and it serves no purpose to get worked up about the return on each and every trade. The risk is mostly on the side of the team taking the prospects.

Well I'd say Reynaldo Lopez has produced pretty well for the Sox early on. But yeah, I get what you're saying. And we all probably remember that when the rebuild started, after Eaton and Sale were moved, things switched to Q rumors. The Yankees were allegedly one of the biggest suitors. And there was that alleged deal that fell apart on Christmas Eve, which many thought was Q to the Yankees. Could Judge have been part of that? I recall that winter Yankee fans wanted us to take Judge for Q and Sox fans wanted no part of him as a headliner. His stock was down from his slow MLB start I guess.

Not sure what the Sox would do, but the Yankees say no for sure.

Development? Letting them get their feet wet this season would seem invaluable in their journey to becoming major league players.

I'm expecting a quiet deadline on the White Sox front. The big assets have been moved out already. And I doubt Abreu gets traded.

I dont have last year's numbers. If that's true, I think last year was an anomaly, not his performance this year. Castillo and Narvaez rank 87th and 89th out of 91 catchers in MLB for pitch framing. And it's not like Castillo wasn't known to be one of the worst pitch framers in MLB when they signed him. I'm not sure what they were thinking.

I went with India, assuming Mize and Madigral will be gone. I'd definitely take Madigral over Singer. I just don't want Singer at #4 under any circumstance. And yes Mize is my top pick if by some miracle he fell.

If scouts think Singer tops out as a #3 starter, that's why I'd look elsewhere. They can sign a #3 starter in free agency with little problem. A bunch of them just sat for months over the winter unsigned. I'd prefer taking a stab at a potential impact player, even if the bust chance is higher than with Singer.

I don't think the Sox would care about trading relievers within the division. Now if they were shopping Jose Abreu at the deadline, that would be a different story.

Even so, you aren't going to get much for these guys. And it's time to start building this thing back up.

I think the scorched earth part of this rebuild is over. Jones and Fry are young and the Sox have control. Why not keep them for the future?

I think it was Saturday. Addison Russell had a groundball hit to him with the bases loaded and 2 outs. He took his sweet time and Sandival (yes the fat Sandival) beat it out. A run scored on that play. The next batter hit a 2 run single. 3 runs scored in that inning because Russell loafed it there. He did not pull him out of the game.

I'm indifferent right now towards Ricky, but I'd love to see Omar replace him this winter.

Pretty sure he was joking. He did have 7 k's in 6 innings.

I was happy to hear him be complimentary about him.

We don't need to look very far to see how fast this thing can come together. Last year the Sox fought most of the way with the Phillies for the worst record in baseball. Today the Phillies stand in 1st place, 2 months in to this season. Look how fast the Cubs went from perennial losers to one of the best teams in baseball. We all saw that happen in our own back yard. If the Sox go on a spending spree this winter, which they should given their absurdly low payroll commitments going forward. And if some prospects come up and excel right away, there's no saying the Phillies of this year couldn't be the Sox next year. Probably not, but it's possible. To hurt their chances moving forward by trading off the best player, to me seems absurd. They're not going to get an Eloy or a Kopech back for Abreu.

I think the Sox should be past the sell-off stage of this rebuild. Not that you won't occasionally do it with certain players in certain situations. But a guy who is a mentor, a leader, the best player by a mile, and shows no signs of slowing down - no you don't even consider moving him.

I think this tweet says it well. SP is a bigger need for the Sox than infielders. But you don't draft for need at #4, and my gut tells me Bohm and Madigral are BPA over Singer.
