He will spend on what his GM tells him will help the club win. Within his own limits. I don't think he needs to grab up every single 10/$400m FA on the market. He needs a GM who can find players away from the top of the market that can produce. We'll see if Getz is that guy.

It's not being upset when somebody doesn't like the job Getz is doing. It's when somebody spends the whole day framing a 27th man call-up as stupid, a mistake, etc, when it's just an innocuous move. It's when a person muses that "nobody can defend" calling up the only infielder on the 40-man when an infielder is needed, when again, it's just an innocuous move. We all get it. You don't like Getz. You come off as silly when you desperately frame every. single. move. as bad, panicky, stupid, etc.

Ramos was the only infielder left on the 40-man when they needed an infielder on the big club. He held his own for a week or so, then the league adjusted to him. I see no harm in giving a guy on the 40-man the cup of coffee so he understands the speed of the pro game as he progresses at AAA. The move wasn't a "turd". If Mendick is gone, who replaces him? Somebody who isn't ready? Do they trade for a utility infielder so they have someone who is ready? Most of the stuff you go on and on about for a day isn't anything that needs to be defended. Bringing up a 27th man, a 5th OF, demoting a starting pitcher who has been adjusted to, and can't get out of the 2nd inning, whatever. It's going to be a 115-120 loss team. Getz should be rummaging through the system to see if anybody can play the game right now. I don't think you have any idea if Sheets has value. You should probably seek out the context of my Julks comment. I've been acknowledging he's probably the weak side of a platoon for a while now.

I'm not sure what me saying that Sheets is a lefty bench bat that has value, I would pencil Julks into next year's lineup, or that Zavala is an example of the Sox developing the defensive part of a catcher's game has anything to do with this. I have no idea what you're arguing here. I have shown that they concentrated on pitching in the 2020, 2021, and 2022 drafts, and that endeavor is already showing success at the ML level.

Yes, and yes. Building a future playoff contender starts with building a strong minor league system. And the process has already started to build a strong minor league system, as evidenced by the players I've mentioned previously.
