  1. I don't think anybody should self-deport, but Caulfield was talking about 3/36, if I remember correctly. And a few of us got swatted down for suggesting somebody like Murakami could sign with the White Sox. NostraCaulfield mocked me for suggesting 3/45.
  2. Merry Christmas, guys. Thanks for the banter.
  3. You do understand they have to play the games this year, right? If they don't have a "top prospect" ready to step in at CF, or into the rotation, I'm not sure what your solution is. If Sean Newcomb wins a starting job and is good enough to hold off the likes of Cannon or Davitt, he's probably good enough to get interest at the TDL. Same with Jake Meyers.
  4. Weird. I saw a report just today that said they would consider making those guys available. Not for Robert, specifically, but more generally, to fill holes.
  5. People mock the notion of Getz focusing on an orderly clubhouse like it's a waste of brain cells, or not needed because that one team who won, none of the players liked each other.
  6. The Giants just signed Gregory Santos. Maybe he's their reclamation project.
  7. They should slip all these guys a couple of hundred and have them send back scouting reports on everybody. Asia covered.
  8. Is that a 4 or 5 star system? I thought I wasn't going to like Death by Lightening (and I wouldn't recommend to non-history buffs), but Matthew MacFayden as Guiteau grew on me.
  9. So, the White Sox probably had him for 2/$10M based on the exciting culture they're building, but he had to turn them down due to his illness. That's cool.
  10. Nobody's winning 300 again, and 3000 Ks might be way less frequent. Buehrle is certainly "borderline".
  11. It looks to me like the cost to the Reds is hovering around something like Mason Adams and an alternate reality Samuel Zavala who played his way up to AA in '25. That, plus the competitive balance pick. That looks like a no-brainer.
  12. I actually don't mind the ball 1" off the plate getting called for a pitcher who's been painting it for 6 innings. This will fix the ball right down the middle being called a ball. Now make an actual rule on what constitutes a swing.
  13. I love Harold Baines, and I would certainly take a selfie in front of his plaque on my next trip, but he is not a Hall-of-Famer. Also, Ron Santo should have been selected during his living lifetime, as well as Dick Allen. It's like there were guys with a bone to pick.
  14. I think he immediately slotted in as their #9 prospect on MLB.com.
  15. Random article posits that the Mets could beat the Reds' offer of injured pitchers with RHP Jack Wenninger (Mets #13, MLB), OF Nick Morabito (Mets #16, MLB) and picking up all the Robert cash. How NY Mets can outbid Reds for Luis Robert Jr. after latest trade swerve - MLB
  16. It looks like Getz would like to not start May in a 7-23 hole, again. In which case, I would imagine Kepler/Hays/Tauchman would work as a RF placeholder until B. Monty plays his way onto the parent club.
  17. Just pulling stuff off of Twitter: Mets free agency and trade buzz: Diamondbacks likely won't deal Ketel Marte unless they receive young pitching
  18. There was an earlier offer, the Sox wanted another player:
  19. There's finally enough interesting players to argue about who should be in the lineup.
  20. Loves, as a Christian loves his fellow man.
  21. Jeez, is it so hard for somebody to pretend to be an MLB insider and post knowing "rumors"?
