When a team is good, it’s because of the players. When a team is bad, the manager sucks. It reminds me of football. When a play works, great execution by the players. When a play gets stuffed, horrible play call.

So pumped to see how Thorpe does. I’m higher on him than most.

Sox only have one team. Some other teams split into two teams, which will water down the talent level of each of the two teams. Since the Sox only have one team, it’s not watered down at all, which is why you expect their record to be much better.

Great job coming out of the break with a win. Need to get Davis Martin back on track now. Let’s take the series before we even reach Sunday.

The article wasn’t about “keeping the door open”. It was about the discussion that took place to determine who to select. It’s not a big deal. I just thought it was amusing. Like I said before, I’m not trying to knock the Sox in any way. I thought it was a very cool article.

Yeah, I think “theater” is a great way to put it. I feel like these conversions actually did happen over the past week, but perhaps they recreated them for the ESPN access. Not trying to knock the Sox for it, but it’s kind of funny. Either way, I enjoyed the article because the thoughts/opinions expressed by our staff were still real.

Financials have nothing to do with what I’m trying to say. Roch said the Sox told him he would be their pick on Thursday. The first paragraph of this article says the Sox weren’t fully decided as of Friday afternoon. Something doesn’t add up.

This is exactly right. If Vargas gave them a 1-0 lead and had the only extra base hit (as a homer), he wins MVP for sure. From a “fun” standpoint, the Vargas hit was better. But from a pure baseball standpoint, Bellinger had the most important hit of the game.

Oh, I’m with you. I wasn’t arguing who should win it. I was simply saying that writing “somehow” for Bellinger was a bit ridiculous, as if all he did was catch a fly ball or something.

“Somehow”? He had half the RBIs and had the game winning hit. I thought Vargas would be a good option also with the only XBH and home run, but let’s not pretend Bellinger didn’t deserve it also.

We drafted a high school SS who is a superb defender and will need some time to develop offensively. Then in his first year in the minors, he gets hurt and hasn’t had a chance to develop yet. And we want to trade him right now for the best starting pitcher we can get? I just can’t get behind that idea. Seems like this would be selling at his lowest possible value.

Yep. I can’t figure him out. When I see him in videos like this, he seems like a good dude. But there’s no way all the reports on his attitude/personality/behavior are just smoke.

Pass. His OPS in conference games was only 2.101. And he’s only ranked #2 academically in his entire class. Weak. Don’t get me started on his vertical. Barely cracked 30 inches.
