  1. They had a dominating run through the regular season and post season. They had a great/reliable rotation and a lineup that had all the pieces you need to be successful back then (good lead off man, 2 hitter that could move guys over at will, RBI guys, and clutch hitters like Crede in the bottom half. They had a manager that everyone loved playing for. It wasn’t luck. It was a once in a lifetime “team” that you rarely see.
  2. Fantastic summary. I’ve been following him closely this year as well, and the turnaround this past month has been awesome to see.
  3. Nice to win the first game of the next 16 game stretch. Although for the last 16 games, they won 2 of the first 3 and only ended up 4-12.
  4. I’ll take it. One less win, and I’ll have 420 less dollars.
  5. Update: At the start of the year, I told myself the Sox need to win 5 out of every 16 games to get to 50 wins (and then they’d still have two games to spare). So I will break the season into ten different 16-game chunks. I’ll update every time we finish another 16 games. Here are the results: 4-12 5-11 5-11 7-9 4-12 Total: 25-55, on pace for 51 wins. Halfway there, and they’ve won exactly 5 out of every 16 games.
  6. Charlotte was up 3-1 heading to the bottom of the ninth and Anderson struck out the first two guys in the inning. Then walk, single, single, walk, walk, walk. Game over.
  7. And if he had a great first half, it would have been a horrible decision to move him in the winter. And if you were sure he’d be bad this year, then you shouldn’t have refused to give a prediction on his WAR this year when I asked you to make one.

Here’s another list that attempts to rank the top free agents: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6367630/2025/05/21/mlb-free-agents-2025-2026-offseason-kyle-tucker-alex-bregman/
  9. Very impressive. It’ll be interesting to see if he fades a little at A+ like Braden did. Only 11 games there so far, but he’s mashing.

I missed those reports. We actually might spend some money this coming offseason?
  11. Tried stealing second. Rangers threw him out. Noda stayed at third. Tauchman struck out.
  12. Unacceptable. Send him down to Low A.
  13. If Colson does become a part of the infield, how about Colson at 3B, Meidroth at SS, Sosa/Baldwin at 2B, and Vargas at 1B?
  14. What are the splits? .320 on base and -.003 slugging?
  15. I posted this in a minor league games thread a couple days ago, but it got lost in the shuffle: Jacob Gonzalez with a couple more hits and a couple more RBIs today. Does he have a chance to be something still? I think he has an OPS of around .800 since the beginning of May. Anybody have thoughts on him? @Y2Jimmy0?
  16. Wait, your brain mistakenly tells you Houston is EAST of Chicago?!?!
  17. I got 49.5. Looked horrible after the 5-19 start. Now it’s looking GREAT!
  18. It was actually 5-2 going into the 9th.

  20. Yeah, the game-winning RBI is the RBI that gives you the lead that you never relinquish.
