  1. Is 8 games considered close?
  2. What had his velocity been? And what was it tonight?
  3. Yeah, and that’s still luck. That’s why BABIP is a thing. Guy made a good pitch and the batter took a horrible looking swing in both cases and got lucky. But hey, I think we can both agree that losers lose. And that’s why the Sox weren’t able to overcome them.
  4. As many blunders as the Sox have made, they’ve also gotten pretty unlucky. All four runs came after a guy stuck the bat out with two strikes and two outs and got lucky.
  5. Oh, I don’t think he’s fast. But he touched third a fraction of a second after the cutoff man caught the ball. If he’s a third of the way home at that point, I think he makes it. Definitely would have been close, but I think he makes it.
  6. You might be right, but he barely jogged to 2nd and then stutter stepped. And the way the cutoff man caught it, it would have been awkward to spin and make an accurate throw.
  7. He busted his ass and noticed the right fielder was dogging it. I loved it.
  8. This is pretty insane.
  9. Glad someone else noticed that. I was shocked.
  10. Looks like the best lineup of the entire season (from an offensive perspective).
  11. I think there’s a difference between being dumb and lacking baseball instincts (particularly on defense and running the bases). In high school, the valedictorian was on my team. Smartest guy I knew, and best hitter on the team. But I’ve never seen a worse base runner in my life. I think there are certain instinctual things you can’t teach in baseball. You either have them or you don’t. Sure, you can teach base running and defensive situations, but some people will never have the ability to just react without thinking about it as it’s happening.
  12. Love the no-stress 9th inning. Nice win, fellas.
  13. The eye test certainly hasn’t been great for him on defense. What do the advanced metrics say about his defense at 2B?
  14. Baldwin has dropped at least three fly balls this year. I have zero trust in him out there. But I really like the potential of his bat.
  15. Keep it close and let Colson and/or Benintendi be the heroes late when Cleveland brings in a righty.
  16. Can we break the losing streak?
  17. I’m pretty optimistic on most guys, but I’ve never been sold on Cannon, dating back to last season.
  18. You missed the “probably” in there.
  19. So we shouldn’t be surprised they haven’t used him in a while, right? Maybe it’s better to invent an injury.
  20. Wrong Taylor
  21. Is he on an innings limit for the year?
  22. Whenever I’m watching on my TV and want to watch a replay, I pull up the app on my phone and you can rewind to any spot.
  23. Wow, that ball was murdered.
  24. Is Sosa the one who tended to struggle when first getting promoted to a new level in the minors, and then always found a way to adjust? Or am I thinking of someone else?
