Madrigal could go 0 for his next 19 and still be batting over .300 in AA. Not too shabby.

He’s been a little rusty since coming back from the injury. Does he have any hits other than the homer in his first game back? Very good to see the walks, though.

Madrigal might be the greatest AA hitter in the history of the game. He hasn’t even made an out yet. EDIT: He did get thrown out stealing once, so I suppose that is making an out. Send him back down to A+.

Were you able to watch? Just curious how Burdi looked. From the box score, his inning looked a little better than “okay”.

They didn’t lie about pursuing him heavily. They pursued him very heavily.

Oh, I thought he just meant the only draft pick in general...not from rounds 3-10 specifically.

I understand your point and I completely agree that they should not get cute with their first pick, but what you’re saying is not exactly accurate. Let’s say they get cute and underslot Baty. All the other guys they draft would have been available (like you mentioned), but you also have this extra guy on top of those picks. If Baty turns out to be a superstar, then losing 100 games allowed you to get him AND get those other guys that would have been available had you not lost 100 games. That being said, I absolutely do not want to go this route. Just take the best player, period.

Now the Birmingham outfield is going to be crowded during this rehab. Guess we better just promote Robert to Charlotte.
