Who is the blonde woman in the dugout that was sitting next to Davis? A trainer?

Davis Martin needs to be watching videos of his crappy performances and figuring out how to fix it not goofing around in the dugout.

I think something could be going on with Peters off the field. Since the all star break he has done a complete 180 on the field. I remember reading that his wife went to the emergency room during the all star festivities. Maybe she has some health issues that are weighing on him. I don't know I'm just guessing but the change in him has been baffling.

Lets keep in mind this guy has only played for the Rockies, a terrible organization. This will be the first time he has ever been in a playoff race. That alone could bump up his performance. I love the fact he is a great defensive outfielder.

You have to be realistic here. Your not getting a C a lot better than this without giving up quite a bit. They gave up nothing for him. They still have all their top prospects which is what we all wanted and they are at least somewhat better today at Catcher than yesterday.

We really need Getz to explain his thinking on this one. Like right now.

I don't think there are a whole lot of players that would be unhappy playing for the Sox right now.

Just curious. Did the Sox just show they can compete for the ALCS title this year? If they win 2 of 3 in Boston will you believe that?

On paper this deal looks pretty much like a wash. They are taking on around 14 mil in added payroll. We have to hope that Castillo will have a positive bump in performance with the change of scenery. He is leaving a team that has been a huge disappointment this year and coming to a team that has been just the opposite. I guess I look at it as it is better than nothing. I absolutely don't want the Sox giving up any of their top prospects unless their getting an all star with control in return. Realistically these are the only kind of deals the Sox can and should make right now.

This is definitely a sellers market with so many teams still in the race for a playoff spot. Nothing big yet and time is running out.

I mean of course this team is performing better this season then any of us expected so I guess we shouldn't be too upset. But when they are in first place the last week in July and the AL is so down this year you just don't want to see them blow the chance of making the playoffs.

Losing these first 2, with your best starting pitchers, with the Yanks, Rays, and Red Sox coming next is not good. I feel like the team is hitting a wall right now.

Every time my inner Sox voice starts saying just maybe this team is for real this year you have a game like this and the doubts creep back. Days your arguably best pitcher goes and your up 5-0 in the 6th you have to win those.

The team I'm most worried about in the Central right now is the fing Tigers. They have a very easy schedule the rest of the way which includes their next 9 games being KC for 3, Baltimore for 3, and the A's for 3. That combined with the Sox having during the same time Houston for 3, Yankees for 4, Rays for 3, and Red Sox for 3. If the Sox have any kind of losing streak in this next 13 game stretch the Tigers could possibly make up a lot of ground quickly.

It is easy to doubt Chase partly because he just doesn't look the part. But if he is going to hit .285 and make most of the plays you have to at 2nd I mean I'm ok with that.

He was struggling early on, he couldn't be trusted. But since he came back and made a change in his delivery he has been lights out. The guy has always had great stuff he just hadn't been able to control and locate.

You almost had to move him because where was he going to play? The real question is was the return worth it?
