  1. Ishbia is not a wait around and wait kind of guy. He has always wanted to own a baseball team. He had every intent on purchasing the Twins but JR approached him with a deal to purchase the Sox and he changed course and took it. He lives and works in Chicago. I predict he will be the new White Sox owner much sooner than later.
  2. Yea I can't believe how big he is. You all think he stays at short?
  3. I'm very familiar with the Ishbia's as I have been a supporter and follower of the Michigan State Basketball program for many years. As you know Justin's brother Matt played basketball at MSU and has been a huge financial supporter of MSU. I know Justin has always wanted to own a major league baseball team. He definately has the financial resources to do it. This would be hugely positive news if he was to become the majority owner. Unlike JR he would do whatever to field a championship team.
  4. Maybe he took the job knowing that JR is planning on selling the team to a billionaire media mogul who will outspend every current owner to build a winning team.
  5. On paper this seems like a good hire. But as we all know everything comes down to how much power in decision making JR is going to give him. At the very least he should know what a winning team and organization is supposed to look like. Also he is under 70 yrs old so that's a plus as well.
  6. The other owners are not going to agree to the Sox being moved. Chicago is the 3rd largest market in the Country and will never be without an AL team.
  7. What an absolute clown show this organization is from top to bottom.
  8. I agree. The Sox have to start building a team. You have to start getting position players that are major league ready or very close to it. These 19 year olds are 3 or 4 years away and that's even if they amount to anything. If your going to trade off the few assets you have you have to be getting some really good pieces back. To me this just looks like JR dumping salary to increase the bottom line. The White Sox are not his passion that he is dedicated to making a winning ballclub. They are just an investment.
  9. Getz was not qualified to be a GM. We all knew that. Now we get to see exactly why.
  10. I'm way past being miserable when it comes to this team. Now I just don't care anymore. I know that nothing will change until JR sells the team. The entire organization needs a complete overhaul and that will only happen with new ownership.
  11. No they do not. JR could care less what the teams record is. His only goal is to get the most return for him and his heirs when the team is finally sold. The teams worth increases no matter what their record is. He could care less what fans think.
  12. Can't wait to hear Grifol make excuses for Robert not throwing.
  13. Congrats JR. You will be leaving a crap load of money to your family but you will also have the legacy of being one of the worst owners in MLB history.
  14. I want to say this team has quit but they would have had to start in order to quit.
  15. Can you imagine what a circus of dysfunction that clubhouse must be. Why does the media even bother asking the players or Grifol any questions at all at this point. The one needing to answer questions is JR but he is hiding away somewhere counting his money and laughing at the few fans this team has left for coming to the ballpark and wasting their hard earned money on this crap product.
  16. All Sox fans need to understand that JR doesn't care in the least what this team does on the field. To him the Sox are nothing but an investment. An investment that gains value every year no matter what the results are on the field. He cares about keeping costs as low as possible so that increase in value every year is at its max. He is the absolute worst type of professional sports owner. The quicker you understand that the less you can invest emotionally or financially in this team. The White Sox are the laughing stock of MLB this year. They may very well lose 120 games. As long as JR is the one calling all the shots It doesn't matter who the GM is or the Manager is or who the players are.
  17. The Sox have been a gold mine when live betting against them with the lead.
  18. This team will easily set the White Sox record for most losses in a season. Congrats Jerry you have the worst organization in all of MLB.
  19. This is going to be an historically bad White Sox team. I can't remember seeing a team so devoid of talent.
  20. I am 65. Lifelong Sox fan. I'm as pissed off about this season and this GM hire as anyone. But you don't just stop being a fan of a team you have loved your whole life. I will give Getz a chance to show who he is and what he can do. But there better be noticeable positive changes very quickly.
  21. JR is pushing 90 yrs old. He is not changing or caring about anyone else opinion. That is how 99% of old people are. They aren't interested at all in any kind of change. He is definately looking to sell the team and he was forced to fire RH and KW because he was convinced that keeping them would not allow him to get the maximum amount of money for the team. And money rules his world. If this Getz hire comes about all Sox fans need to cancel season tickets if they have them. They need to not support the team in any way until JR is no longer the owner. I'm a life long Sox fan. It will be hard and it will suck. But I'm done supporting an owner who could care less about me as a fan and could care less about winning.
  22. Hire Theo Epstein and give him complete control. Pay him whatever it takes.
  23. Now go after Aaron Boone as soon as the Yankees let him go!
  24. Aaron Boone will be available soon.
