ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
From what people have said, for the long term, pec would be much preferable to the shoulder so there are no lingering issues sapping power. His calling card is power. If thats gonna be a long term issue, then what's he here for? I've accepted hes done for the year. I am praying no shoulder/labrum issues in addition to the pec. Just keep it confined to the pec, let him come back next year and replace him with Gallo. Don't go cheap with Cespedes. NO!

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
Just get Gallo already. Isn't he under contract for 2 years? Solves the power void issue and is a LH bat and a corner OF. Good bridge to Colas Eloy can play DH next year if he still has his power. Jose/Vaughn at 1B/DH this year. 2022 Vaughn/Eloy if he is 100 percent health and power wise. Just get it done. Might need to part with a couple young pitchers. It sucks but it is what it is.

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
Sigh.....ok get the Rangers on the phone and get Gallo.

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
Some rumors of a torn pec. 3-9 mos. If its that and not the shoulder/labrum, will he at least fully recover from that with no lingering effects on his power?

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
If its a labrum tear does that mean going forward his power output would be more limited?

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
Whats the realistic best case scenario in terms of missed time if its just the shoulder and not pec?

Get a LH bat. No more excuses. Get one. Period.

Colas is coming
Its unlikely he can outlast aging curves beyond his current deal. And even if he is kept by JR for emotional reasons, that doesn't mean he will be getting consistent ABs....esp with Eloy and Vaughn in their primes.

Colas is coming
Very good. Once he comes in, he can spend 2022 in the minors, and start in LF in 2023. By that time, Vaughn will be at 1B and Eloy can be the DH. Plus a good LH bat with reported 55 hit and 60 power is great.

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
Problem is even if its for a couple weeks usually Eloy takes awhile to get going after coming back from minor injuries.

White Sox vs A's 3:05 PM
TLR says he likes having a switch hitter at 4. I agree that Moncada at 2 and Eloy at 4 makes the most sense though. But with TLR presumed lineup they can go RLRLR for the first five spots

What about Vaughn?

Backup Catcher (update 3/29 - Lucroy won't make team, asked for release)
How does the math work though assuming Mendick is also on the roster? Pitchers- Giolito, Keuchel, Lynn, Cease, Rodon, Kopech, Lopez, Hendriks, Bummer, Heuer, Crochet, Marshall, plus 1 more BP spot (13) Position Players- Robert, Jimenez, Eaton, Moncada, Anderson, Madrigal, Abreu, Grandal, Vaughn, Engel, Lucroy, Garcia, Mendick, Collins (14) Thats 27...not 26. And even that assumes there is only 1 more BP spot. I get the feeling it may be more.

Dude he is likely to start out in Triple A.

Trade him for a lefty bat and no I don't care if there is no room in the lineup for one. Find room.

2021-22 International Signing Period
Yes this is true but if Jose keeps producing and since he is a personal favorite of JR, I dont think he would be going anywhere. The lineup badly needs a couple legit LH bats. Colas in LF would be great but there's no room, esp if Jose isn't going anywhere.

2021-22 International Signing Period
Could that explain why we aren't in on other players cause alot of money is being spent on Colas? I have to wonder why Colas would sign with us though, if Cespedes is supposed to be on the fast track to being our RF in 2022.

Hoping to see Rutherford show some promise. And yes, a strong spring by Collins would be great. The power and is there, just needs to make contact. I'd really like to see him grab the backup C job.

Vera to Sign today per DVS
That group will power the second part of the window hopefully.

TLR publicity train
Its not an issue of excessive confidence or ignorance its an issue of the FO telling the fan base "ok the rebuild years will be really hard and we won't spend at all but when the window opens we are all in to win a title, anything less will be a disappointment" and now the window is here, so yes people will be disappointed with merely an above average performance compared to the rest of the league. Thats not what was promised. I want what was promised. Spoiler: It wasn't 87 wins or merely an above average team. Its time to produce. I dont want to hear about how there is a mismatch between our expectations and expected outcomes based on statistical models. Our expectations are reasonable because that was the social contract that was entered into. That the ownership and/or FO may not have kept up their end of the bargain is hardly good reason to change expectations and in fact this would incentivize reprehensible conduct. I'm going to be beyond pissed if it turns out this is an 87 win team. That would be a disaster of biblical proportions.

TLR publicity train
Very, very few people will be satisfied with 87 wins, and even 91 wins wouldnt exactly be much to write home about.
