  1. Yeah but what's the right price? What do they have in mind?
  2. Maybe Bummer is the major league talent referred to in addition to ReyLo and Rodon and one of the minor league OFers and Collins. That would be a good package. And they could replace him with the money saved on a FA pitcher with someone like Betances.
  3. I really hope that by "Major league talent" they mean ReyLo and not Cease.
  4. At those numbers, I won't be surprised if Cole hits 300m.
  5. They may be throwing people off the scent. Hector is credible in my eyes even if his friend is unproven. They may be trying to finalize it. But it still doesn't make sense. He cannot play RF. If he's gonna be the DH that leaves Jose with nowhere to play in 21 or 22 since rabbit said Vaughn is not being traded. Ozuna in LF puts Eloy at DH which still leaves someone making 17m a year with nowhere to play and while the Sox might be sentimental about Jose, they aren't gonna be THAT sentimental, so it doesn't add up unless they just don't care about corner OF defense at all.
  6. LMAO...were done. At least I don't have to keep refreshing anymore.
  7. If the Dodgers insist on having an unreasonable price for Joc and Ozuna and/or Castellanos costs more than 4/65 then I'm ok with Calhoun for 1 year. Next year we can sign Joc just for cash anyway and since he can't hit lefties, the price would be probably reasonable. By that point, Basabe might be ready to be his platoon partner and like Joc he also provides good defense in RF.
  8. It's self defeating to deal Cease. I'm good dealing Lopez plus that package I noted earlier since there will be a numbers problem in the rotation with him anyway.
  9. Sound like it has to be Madrigal and/or Dunning. I imagine Dunning/Basabe/Stiever should net something halfway decent.
  10. Is there another small short term contract (like 6-8m) they have that we can absorb in addition? I'd rather have Q than pay 3/45 for Keuchel.
  11. Maybe we can get Quintana back to be our 4/5. It takes 10m off their books. Give them a middling prospect. And before anyone says that will leave a hole in their staff if they are trying to unload money they won't be competing anyway
  12. Dave I hope they aren't going to cannibalize thr key fruits of the rebuild to buy a pitcher. Vaughn and Madrigal should be untouchable.
  13. Yes I'm hoping he just meant it's proportional not that Vaughn/Madrigal are being shopped for a good pitcher.
  14. If Ozuna really is gonna be the DH, if they are able to trade for Joc for RF that would be a hell of an offensive lineup.
  15. This suggests Vaughn is on the block for a pitcher. If Ozuna is DH presumably for several years, Jose has to stay at 1B. Dammit. This is so stupid. Leave prime prospects alone. Wheeler's wife is literally wrecking the rebuild.
  16. That sounds scary as heck. Sounds like Vaughn or someone big but not Robert obviously. I'd be so pissed. You don't cannibalize the fruits of rebuild to get a pitcher. It's self defeating. Just spend some damn money or take on a bad contract as the main compensation in a trade.
  17. That's certainly a possibility. If they can lock in Ryu or whomever for a certain price they may know how much flexibility they have at RF, although we've been told we have "unprecedented financial flexibility" and our current payroll is still south of 90m so this line still has the stench of incompetence and or penny pinching. IMO they should still be able to work on multiple tracks at the same time.
  18. Apparently we aren't able to walk and chew gum at the same time if Heyman is to be believed. Although perhaps I shouldn't be surprised.
  19. 3/45 would be great....I think that is likely too optimistic tho. Even 3/50 for him and 3/60 for Ryu would be a combined cost of less than Wheeler and there would be no long term impact on the books.
  20. Yeah that would hurt....that would be too much even tho I really want Joc. Perhaps the Dodgers want alot for him because maybe they want to keep all their trade chips for a large volume offer to Cleveland for Lindor, although I assume a Cleveland team wanting to rebuild wouldn't have much use for a slugger on a 1 year deal (or 2 years with the QO). I wonder if Kelvin Herrera, Fulmer and Bernardo Flores would work. Hopefully the Ozuna rumor will sour the Dodgers into being reasonable.
  21. New article.....I think his exact words are sources say no indication of an imminent agreement.
  22. Fegan is saying his sources deny any agreement with Ozuna has been reached.
  23. If it's true that Wheeler's money is going to Ryu and Ozuna, that's prolly 6 wins. This is a high 80s win team, IMO.
