  1. Beat writers have a transactional relationship with teams where there us often a "price" to get info...
  2. Yep. Leury RF Segura 2B. There's our position players guys.
  3. He isn't being paid 6m to be a utility guy when we are on a tight budget. Anything over say 12-13= starter.
  4. If they had to go the ultra cheap route at 2B to afford Conforto, the organization is an even bigger joke than I thought.
  5. What a brilliant diabolical plan. JR: Hold your horses guys, let's wait until the CBA and then you can spend real money. *All the choice FAs get signed* *CBA occurs* JR: OK guys, you can get your RF, 2B and SP now. RH: But Jerry all the best options are off the market now. JR: What a shame, sounds like your team is on the field.
  6. We need to add multiple lefty mashers. I'm not sure why people are struggling with this concept. I dont want to hear about Sheets. I dont want to hear "but where's Schwarber gonna play?". I'm tired of excuses and then getting exposed against halfway decent righty pitching. Get the savages. This was priority 1. And priority 2. And priority 3. Not dicking around with other things. Or throwing birthday parties for Minnie Minoso. Or pat themselves on the back for potentially getting another righty GB hitter at 2B when that's NOT what we needed. Or telling us how hard they are working. Get the damn savages.
  7. Uhh no. Adding a single LHH doesn't create a balanced lineup. Grandal isn't really that great against RHP and something happened to Moncada's power. Adding one guy is necessary but not sufficient. Conforto plus another crap righty at 2nd and no meaningful replacement for Rodon isn't a good offseason. Conforto does keep it from being an F though. Bring me lefty savages. Not one savage and a bunch of garbage half measures.
  8. Problem is they aren't gonna make two big signings, not even a 1 yr 20m deal for 2B after making a 4/80 or 5/100 for RF.
  9. Yep. Were basically subsidizing their add on of Kimbrel by taking back high priced trash in Segura. Since they appear to be onto Conforto and also Schwarber from what I just read, this could boomerang on us. Maybe that's why they are refusing to pull the trigger and trying to lock down our guys first.
  10. They can't deal with Philly unless we sign Conforto first as we could end up screwing ourselves.
  11. It's 9 pm on the east coast, get something effin done already
  12. Conforto alone does not fill the need of insufficient offense vs RHP.
  13. Is it even worth staying up tonight harold?
  14. Another player who isn't special against RHP. NO.
  15. Get something done, already. You've had weeks to survey the market and put together your plan.
  16. No more blogging for you! That would be hilarious if that happened. Perhaps they sense it too and that's why they don't want to pull the trigger on the trade.
  17. More teams= more games = more playoff TV revenue.
  18. No I think he means one more big signing.
  19. Anything decent going on on the Kimbrel front? I get the feeling Conforto won't sign before lockout unless someone hits 100.
  20. Jack, I suspect JR had to be dragged kicking and screaming for that offer a few years ago. He doesn't like paying pitchers big money (to him, 100m plus is prolly big money). The idea that the FO was gonna get him to agree to do that PLUS a big investment at either RF or 2B is not realistic. If they want two big splashes they can probably buy one and trade Vaughn or some other big time youngster for the other. They aren't buying both.
  21. If they misread the market, which should surprise exactly no one, they need to pair a prospect or eat some money on DK to help open up some extra cash.
