  1. I think that might be a bit much for the FO both in years and total money. Maybe 4/80-85? He's projected to be around 2.5 WAR so 20m AAV seems to be a solid/aggressive offer.
  2. Bring me a left handed savage, Rick! I agree. RH needs to make an aggressive offer on MC. If they start slow playing move onto Schwarber fast for LF/DH and then figure out a cheaper short term RF option later. There needs to be left handed savagery by the time by the time you are at the gate. After all, CWS needs to have something to be excited about on the flight as he's looking at the unappealing combination of a couple bags of peanuts and his old lady nagging him about blogging. Give that man a legit savage to be excited about, Rick. Let's ****ing go!
  3. Agreed and this is a great sign re: Conforto. NSC also noted that Hahn is intentionally BSing on the SP is #1 priority claim. Let's get this deal locked down today with MC. Then move Kimbrel and make the OAK trade. Get everyone in camp on Sunday.
  4. In fairness, he also doesn't want to give agents leverage by openly stating the obvious.
  5. No matter who we sign she will tell you to stop blogging
  6. Lulz if JR and friends get outbid by Monfort for Conforto
  7. Yeah I'm getting irritated by this now. It's been several hours already, I think there's been a decent interval where they can claim they used that time to negotiate a deal.
  8. I don't think it will be a massive deal....4/80ish.
  9. He's been very good for several years before that and even last year when he sucked he put up good numbers vs RHP.
  10. Prolly have to find a cheaper FA or trade option and if that doesn't work, maybe Leury/Engel combo (not good I know). Vaughn and Schwarber at the corners doesn't work. Anyway a legit LHH savage is non negotiable. No more switch hitters that are avg or slightly above vs RHP. I want a legit righty killer.
  11. I'd be beyond pissed if we gave him 3 years...or even 1-2. Just make get a damn LH savage that can actually play the OF. This isn't that hard. We have a monopoly on DH type RH bats already that have no glove value. I'm sick of this crap. If Conforto doesn't come, give Schwarber the 3/60 he was looking for and put him in LF. Bat him 4th behind Robert, Moncada and Eloy and profit.
  12. I feel that instead of actually making a 4 year commitment to Conforto they are going to on like a 1-2 year deal with Castellanos instead, they'll make excuses about how it doesn't matter that he's right handed and that having him and Eloy bookend the corners on defense is actually an "underappreciated" defensive combo.
  13. Don't they need to move Kimbrel first for prospects so they can send those kids then to OAK? I thought one was kind of contingent on the other. And RH needs to get Conforto done tonight. 4/80-85 and once Colas is ready you can move Conforto to LF and Eloy to DH.
  14. Get Conforto now. If they can't, pivot to Schwarber quickly. No excuses.
  15. Hope not. Get a legit LHH. No Bryant, no Castellanos.
  16. Sure you can. If part counts against CBT but not all, you can give players numbers they want and give some cushion to owners. Even 65m divided over 30 clubs is about 2m and change. If they agreed to 50m rising to 70m and it would count as 1m against CBT for each team, the players are basically redistributing about half of their own money to pay for it and owners ate paying other half in new money.
  17. Yep. I expect the union to use this to get some more money for prearb pool and/or MLBs agreement that prearb pool money won't count against CBT and maybe a bit more cash for min salary players.
  18. Union can use intl draft to force one final increase in prearb pool.
  19. I wonder if the union will still say no expanded playoffs in 2022 in their statement.
