I get the sense that Getz actually doesn't even want guys like Basallo, Mayo or Kjerstad from BAL even though we would. I think he would want to get something like Bradfield and/or Beavers because it better fits his vision even if there's very little power in the lineup and he's just scared to death of anyone that could end up at 1B or DH or LF no matter how good the bat is. Not that it matters anyway because trying to trade with BAL is like trying to hammer a piece of jello to the wall.

There were some rumors earlier of Fedde to MIL for Pratt and Letson. Jimmy had said Sox liked Letson and Pratt just snuck into the Top 100 and is an up the middle player that is young and with upside. I'd really like a savage bat tho but that just seems unlikely with Getz small ball and speed philosophy.

Yes that's pretty exciting.....his babip is high I want to see where he is at when it normalizes but the improved plate discipline and mega game power is awesome. It's possible he could end up being fairly close to 20 HRs in Low A despite not being there the whole year which would be incredible for an 18 year old.

I dont think Iriarte is a lotto ticket. According to one service (it may have been Baseball Prospectus not sure I don't remember), he was a Top 100 prospect. And "Jerry won't let me sign him" is a perfectly good reason by itself to trade the player. If you can't keep him and we know we can't, it's best to sell high and this is certainly a very high point.

He's still getting a healthy amount of walks and his ISO ain't bad...but yes overall you are right that he needs to make major strides with his hit tool.
