Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
Then why would Ishbia buy in, if someone else has an absolute majority, they are ok with the general partner making decisions and the general partner passes away, then Hobson has has control. I don't think Ishbia wants someone looking over his shoulder after JR passes. I'd be surprised if Hobson has an absolute majority....maybe plurality.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
This reminds me of how like 8 different Presidential administrations in a row kept saying Castro can't survive forever and he just outlasted administration after administration.

I haven't seen @Chicago White Sox this excited since we traded for Chase Meidroth.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Then it might be a 3 way trade where PIT sends pitching to a third team and the third team sends us up the middle bats. They seem to be hellbent on adding a legit SS.
-
Michael A. Taylor Signed
I doubt that's a reference to Robert because he said pitching is going the other way and right now we are looking for bats.

Michael A. Taylor Signed
I'm speculating. It's clear we don't want to eat money and NYM has no issues with adding salary. They also have some prospects at the positions Getz is looking for. Those prospects have lost some shine so Getz might be able to buy low on a couple of them

Robert to the Mets soon? Jett Williams plus what else?

That game was delicious. Let me taste your tears, Kansas City! I'm looking forward to seeing who Denver can add in FA/trades and draft. Go Broncos.

Sox Claim Brandon Eisert, Designate Steven Wilson, Wilson clears waivers
You're like super awesome at trades, Chris!

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
They won't ask us to eat money unlike the Reds and Getz may be able to buy low on a couple prospects that fit what Getz is looking for (up the middle positions, speed/athleticism, take their walks).

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
I could see the Sox getting something done in ST with the Mets and Jett Williams will be the headliner along with another piece.

McDaniel/ESPN rank Sox system #2 behind LAD
I dont think it's quite that good but it's in the Top 10 for sure.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
If we couldn't pry Arroyo, we almost certainly will not be able to get Crawford.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
This may be the real reason....JR under pressure from other partners to turn a huge profit this year regardless of gate receipts but again....we're gonna do that no matter what. Even if we pay all of Robert's salary this year whether he is on our team or not, the payroll is still abysmally low and we should still generate a massive profit for the other partners and board members. If we were talking about the difference between 50m and 125m, I could see why the other partners would pressure Jerry. We're talking about the difference between 50m and 65m. There is no way in hell no matter whatbthe attendance is and no matter what the local TV revenue is that they are going to make anything less than a huge killing even with a mid 60s payroll.

When was the last time our payroll was in the 60s?
-
White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
It depends on who else they would put in the deal and how much they want us to eat. If they threw in another very good piece if we ate all the 2025 salary, then eat it. Our payroll is in the 60s, so I don't see the rationale of not eating money, EVEN IF we have sustained losses the last few years. A payroll anywhere south of 100m is guaranteed to generate huge profits pretty much no matter what...im not sure what dicking around over a 50m payroll vs 65m payroll will accomplish.

Trades don't exist in the abstract, Jimmy. If you are targeting prospects on a specific team you also have to have an appreciation of who you are dealing with and their interests and issues and look at things from their perspective and craft your proposals around that. Cincinnati has budget constraints and if we don't go into the negotiation taking that into account, then were not a serious organization. If we were halfway competent, we would eat the WHOLE 2025 salary if it meant enhancing the return. Our fucking payroll is abysmally low. If you can get Arroyo plus some other good piece too (Petty?) if you eat it all, then eat it all. Our payroll is in the 60s so who gives a f*** if we eat it? Jerry will make a killing with any payroll south of 100 and prolly even south of 150. Get your damn SS already.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Looks like they were targeting exactly who many of us were hoping for so that's good. It's frustrating that they are hung up on eating money when payroll is only in the 60 millions or so. Fucking Jerry.

24-25 NFL Thread
I'm so sick of this s%*#. I hate them so much. If the Eagles had half a brain, Fangio would make sure to put in a scrub for a couple plays whose sole job is to dive at Mahomes knees and as insurance in case that doesn't work, Philadelphia should hire a PI who hopefully catches Goodell doing things he shouldn't to blackmail him into ordering the officials to ensure the Eagles win. Take off the gloves. Get it done. I dont care what it takes.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Good. Go get Arroyo....eat 5m of Robert's salary to enhance the return....that will still result in a net savings of 10m for Jerry.

At least we are actively trying to take advantage of what's going on with Sasaki. Quality addition. Maybe we can trade the rest of our money and something else to LAD for Zyhir Hope.

Nix had 29 TDs to 12 INTs, 66% completion percentage and got exponentially better over the course of the season. People can dog him if they like but I'm personally very happy that he is my teams QB.

Ohio State will win by a comfortable margin. NDs offense isn't going to generate any TOP and will go 3 and out often. This will put alot of pressure on the defense and eventually they will tire and the dam will break. I'm thinking 27-10 or 31-13. I hate both teams a ton (I support Miami), but at least Freeman is a likeable guy. Day is a douche.
