BA is not that important. For those of us not still stuck in the 50s and for those of us who dont spend most of our days yelling at kids to get off our lawn, OBP and SLG are better correlated with offensive production. IMO if BOS actually offered either Campbell/Montgomery or Mayer/Montgomery I bet a deal would be done by now. I suspect they are trying to see first if they can outbid NYY for Fried. If I were to guess, I bet BOS is offering something like Abreu, Montgomery and Arias. Getz has said I don't want MLB players and I want one of your top 4 as the top piece and BOS is determining whether they will pay cash for a SP or prospects.

It depends on the whole package involved from BOS and PHI. Yes Mayer is ofcourse better than Miller but he has injury issues etc. Crawford is a better 2nd piece than Montgomery.

His WRC+ at A+ was 128 which is good for a 20 year old and Law said he should stick at SS which is also a big deal because we're gonna need someone who can actually stick at SS.

That would be fine. We know Crawford is coming back. The question is will PHI also part with Miller or is Getz going to be satisfied with Caba as the other piece. If he gets back Miller and Crawford it will be a job well done.

It would be hard to say no to this even with Mayers injury issues. That would be two very good players hopefully you can keep Mayer healthy. Two big time lefty bats (Montgomery is technically switch but much better from left side).

I read that it looks like it will be the Mets I hope Boston doesn't put all of its money into Fried. I'm hoping that NYY quickly pivots to Fried to calm the fanbase after their little brother just dick punched them. NYY will outbid BOS imo.

Mayer is very talented but his BABIP fueled performance last year and injuries are scary. Still....I bet we wouldn't say no to Mayer and Montgomery, unless PHI offered Miller and Crawford.

Yeah if Soto goes to BOS they will have an OF glut for sure and Braden Montgomery will be a trade piece.

We really need Fried and Burnes to sign. And not with Boston or Philly.

I dont see why rival teams find this position unreasonable. Yeah he had a bad year. We're not asking for 70m or whatever in SV anymore or even 40-50m it seems. But yeah you will prolly need to give us a single 55 FV player that prolly is worth 30m SV or a little more. We shouldn't give him away for free.

What would be ideal is if we did the Crochet deal to BOS for Montgomery (RF) and Campbell (2B) and moved Robert to PHI for Crawford (CF).
