Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
SoCalChiSox replied to ChiSoxFanMike's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This would be outstanding but unless PHI strikes out on others I doubt it, despite how much I want it to be true. Dombrowski might want us to throw in Taylor too. -
LOL....he put his dick in a blender and pressed the on button on that one. Hopefully he isn't as much of a dumbfuck on other player evaluations.

I wouldn't be spooked by anything Barfield says. Keep in mind he kept running his mouth before the Cease trade saying "we don't have to move him, we have the leverage" and all this BS and they blinked even though SD made a mediocre offer. He's just a media mouthpiece to try and create the impression that they wont settle for scraps. I see no reason why they would keep Slater, Wilson, Eisert, Robert, Houser. Tauchman they might need as a productive but cheap starter in 2026 since Braden might not be here until late, 2026 and even then will be an adjustment period.

Bowden suggests strong market exists for Robert despite his stats.

His ERA was like 1.5 but FIP was in the 3s, so there was bound to be regression. -

I wonder if you put Houser, Tauchman and Wilson together whether we could get Caissie from the Cubs? -

Maybe we could get a halfway decent return after all if he can keep it up a little more -

He needs to have a really good 2 weeks, send him to PHI with a good reliever and maybe something else (and cash retained) and try to get Crawford. -
If we could package various players together to get Justin Crawford somehow that would be great. Dunno what PHI needs tho.

If there really are 8 suitors, we might get something useful for him, especially I'd we eat some money. Perhaps we would turn our focus to CF prospects with Carlson now in the fold at SS. -
Did Jacob Parker get picked? I thought the Sox were interested in him too not just his brother
-
From Getz comments in that Merkin piece, sounds like another bat at 4 and then pitcher at 5.
-
Yeah they have to underslot the 3rd pick to pay for him
-
Dammit
-
Could we float Summerhill to our second rounder?
-
Good pick Getz Got the true SS he has wanted.
-
Could Houser plus Wilson get us a 50 FV prospect?
-
I wonder if we packaged him with a good reliever like Booser or Wilson (really anyone in the BP except for Taylor) plus Tauchman, whether we could get Owen Caissie (sp) from the Cubs.
-
He will probably be in Birmingham for at least a couple months to start next season but I think he still has a decent shot to be in Chicago in late, 2026 if he keeps developing.
-
@caulfield12 was hyperventilating because Braden had a rough couple days at the plate and his OPS had dipped under. 800. Prospects....even very good ones will go through little ruts here and there, it's not a big deal. I still expect Braden to reach AA later this year. Glad he hit a HR...keep it going!

I wonder if the Reds would still offer Arroyo for Robert straight up if we ate some salary considering Arroyo is also having a down year at least at the plate coming back from his injury. I know he is highly regarded defensively so I'm assuming he's still doing well at SS in the field. And he's still just a 21 year old at AA who is still getting OBP decently even if there is no power. Maybe both teams would be buying low on each player and we'd give the Reds some money too. Colson looks solid at SS so far in a small sample size but most analysts think he will still end up at 3B ultimately and we know Getz loves premium defenders in up the middle positions. I'm not sure we would get that much for Robert even if we threw in some cash but who knows. -

Yeah ultimately it depends on the amount of compensation.
