And I'm pretty sure i know which of the two fanbases will be incredibly disappointed. Spoiler alert: It's not the one with "Red" in the team name. In all seriousness, if we got Braden Montgomery and Kristian Campbell as people have suggested, this would be pretty good. Montgomery would have gone far higher in the draft if it wasn't for his injury, and has a great arm for RF, is a switch hitter that has alot of power from the left side in particular so there's some real savagery there too. Campbell has played 2B, SS and I think CF so he could potentially fill multiple different spots depending on how those positions shake out after other moves so there's good flexibility there. I would support that deal if those are the two main pieces. I'd love Anthony from BOS but they aren't gonna deal him obviously. -

Good. And hopefully the middle of the order reference means Getz has finall_ figured out that Limp Dick Ball isn't a legitimate offensive strategy and at least some actual savages (besides Montgomery) are required. -
White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
SoCalChiSox replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Unfortunately, there are several scenarios outside of serious injury where Jerry isn't retaining him for 20m. The most probable scenario triggering the failure to retain him is the one where Jerry has to....you know....actually cut the check to Robert. -

I'd be shocked if we got both Miller and Crawford out of them. That would be awesome. I think Law said Miller should stick at SS. Unfortunately, the odds of Getz negotiating that kind of return out of Dombrowski is zero. -

Nah....if he actually does a good job at being a GM rather than bring a mindless bootlicker he could have a future in baseball post Jerry. Evidently he doesn't care about that, though. -

Actually he has very little job security. If Getz was anything other than a moron, he'd realize he's one very old man not waking up the next morning away from being unemployable in baseball unless he actually makes some decent decisions. If he truly feels no pressure than he's an even bigger idiot than we think. -

Crawford is a very good piece but we need a second very good piece too. -

Agreed. Makes no sense. Bohm does nothing for a rebuilding team and we have like 3-4 3B and no true SS. Crawford would be a fun replacement for Robert in CF, but replace Bohm with another big piece. Miller (Law thinks he will stick at SS) and Crawford would do it, but PHI won't include both. -
Go Broncos and Go Bo! Feels great to have a legit QB again.

Andrew Benintendi on the trade market (duh)
SoCalChiSox replied to Harold's Leg Lift's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's not that people don't believe it, it's that it's irrational and stupid and so people don't want to believe it. The payroll is already very low, the priority should be on adding young prospect talent not watering down packages for salary relief. -

Please don't include him in Crochet or Robert deals. Payroll is already going to be south of 100m. -

Why? We settle for uninspiring returns all the time. -

PHI would be a great match. LAD would be horrible. -
Tremendous potential largely unfulfilled.

Yeah that's what I don't get....everyone else was saying his swing looks good now and Law was saying the opposite.
-
Law basically trashed Montgomerys swing in the AFL and said he isn't moving well. I was less than thrilled to read that after all the good stuff I've been reading here.
-
That's really encouraging about Montgomery....he also finished the AAA year playing well at the end too so maybe his back is feeling better or he made some adjustments. Any reports of how he's looking at SS in the AFL?

Looks like being cheap doesn't pay Elias. BAL swept two years in a row. Lulz

We need legit positional talent.
