they are both the same type of deal. not going to ever make an impact on the team and just running out of 40 man roster clock. With Cespedes and Colas being the focus of the minors outfield prospects next year they both are out regardless.

If the sox were stretching out Kopech or Crochet i would be fine letting Rodon go. I hate to say it since they have royally mucked that up you gotta pay Rodon now and when Kopech and Crochet are ready to join rotation you trade Gio if he wants mega contract.
