  1. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 10:35 PM) Eyebrows? Seriously? I can understand her incredible five head (or big forehead for the older crowd) but eyebrows? Dude, I was calling my sister "fivehead" in 1974. It's not a difficult term to figure out, even for us old fogies. (and yes, I was an awesome big brother.... )
  2. QUOTE (soxmaniac! @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 11:53 AM) the streak lives on! i must obey the superstition go sox go, go sox go, hey chicago whattaya say, the sox are gonna win today I disapprove of this.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 10:06 AM) Sunday line up like a MFer (guessing Escobar should be a 3B0 Mark Gonzales ‏@MDGonzales Beckham 2b, Escobar 2b, Youkilis 1b, Konerko dh, rios rf,Ramirez ss, Viciedo lf, flowers c, Danks cf, Quintana p This lineup makes me feel okay with passing on free tickets today. I was not going to sit in that heat anyway. My kid would rather go to the pool, and I would rather sit in the A/C.
  4. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 11:20 AM) Done deal. Both to Minnesota. Hopefully Stan goes and gets a 2C now. Hawks should have kept Jake Dowell. Apparently he was a part of getting them signed.
  5. I played with a guy who bought a couple DeMarini's for himself and I had to laugh. Kid couldn't hit the ball out of the infield and he's dropping cash on triple-walled bats. I told him "it ain't the bat, it's the batter - if you're good it don't matter".
  6. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 05:39 PM) If Detroit really wants to give Suter $90M, he can go there. He probably will.
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 02:43 AM) Someone broke in to my car last night, among valuable electronics, they stole my softball bat. f***ers. Now I'm screwed. Pieces of s***. A good, reliable bat isn't always easy to find. I hope you can find another bat you like. Back in '85 I had my car stolen from in front of my house. I had all of my goalie equipment in the car - I was more upset about losing that than I was of losing the car. I had debated bringing the stuff in when I got home from my game, but I was exhausted and decided I would bring it in the next morning. Still kick myself about that when I think about it.
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 05:29 PM) I had 10 K's in 5 innings in my terrible league last night. LOL. 2 strikeouts per inning in slow pitch??? Those guys should really think about another hobby.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 10:54 AM) I wish there was something that could make Vince work hard. But there is nothing. And this is why we get retread storylines in WWE, and old wrestlers are brought back for events. He doesnt have to try hard because of TNA Yep. TNA has everything in place to make a run at Vince - Daddy's money, a cable network that still seems happy with them, and enough talent to fill a show. What they DON'T have is a game plan. They bring in useless crap-sacks like Hogan and Bischoff and place way too much trust in them. They need to completely revamp their front office and bring in some decent wrestling minds if they ever really expect to challenge Vince. I'd have given Heyman complete control of the book. I don't think he's a "genius", but I do think he knows the business and knows how to help bring the best out of talent. Truth be told, though, I don't think anyone will ever knock Vince off, just because of brand recognition - you think wrestling [or "sports entertainment"] and you think WWE. Sometimes I wonder if TNA simply wants to be a quiet #2 so Vince doesn't wake up and try to crush them.
  10. The very definition of "no one cares": Love the "what?" chants, though.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) Shawn Michaels throwing out first pitch at Sox game tomorrow. If he had true skills he would superkick it to the plate.
  12. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 09:43 PM) I keep hearing this everywhere, and it's kind of worrisome to me because I'm set to venture on down to Atlanta in September for Pearl Jam headlining the Music Midtown Festival. Between the price of admission and the long drive down, a let down would hurt considerably more than if this was in Tinley Park or East Troy... Are the sets shorter or watered down at festival- anything along those lines? I've only ever been to two festivals- Ozzfest in 2001 and Pearl Jam 20th Anniversary at Alpine Valley, and in both cases the headliners were my reason for attending, and in both cases I left satisfied. Not sure those would qualify as true festivals since the entire day and roster of bands performing was planned as a lead in for the headliners, unlike the Lollapaloozsa and Bonnaroos where it's a purely random mix of everything. Generally the sets are shorter outside of the headliners, but for me the distaste comes from weather, crowds, having to choose between bands if they play at the same time or similar times, things like that. My personality is not suited for all-day events, so it's not worth the ticket price to me. I like going to a specific event and then going home.
  13. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 11:28 PM) I usually steer clear of outdoor music festivals cause of my hated or people, crowds of people, crowds of smelly people and the heat, but this line-up is RIDICULOUS (to me) http://fyffest.com/ And a HELL of a great price for weekend passes.... I will be there Riot Fest has a really great lineup this year, but I hate festival shows more than I like the bands. I prefer the format where there were a ton of individual shows.
  14. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 7, 2012 -> 03:50 PM) Styles? or wrong thread? AJ (Lee, although they dropped her surname), onscreen girlfriend of Daniel Bryan....or CM Punk....or Kane.....
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 5, 2012 -> 07:18 AM) Me too. Let's try this again. link Still asking for a login.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 5, 2012 -> 10:27 AM) You don't like the angle surrounding the WWE title taking a backseat to Cena and Cole? Oh, wait...I meant to say, ASIDE from the awesome and long-awaited Michael Cole/John Cena battle, the show was garbage.
  17. Vince better do something to improve the show soon. Last night's Raw was a pile of garbage. I guess he's waiting for the 1,000th episode to start some angles? I also read that he's inviting a ton of old "superstars" to the 1,000th episode as well.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 06:58 AM) Yeah, I thought all the Family Feud hosts had committed suicide. Dawson and Ray Combs both died on June 2nd. Coincidence???? ....yeah, it's a coincidence....
  19. Richard Dawson, host of Family Feud and frequent player on The Match Game, dead at 79 of esophageal cancer.
  20. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 11:45 PM) You know Mr Machismo, Jay Lethal is going in there. Sorry to nitpick, but it was Black Machismo Jay Lethal.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 11:41 AM) as many as WWE passes down the chain It's funny cuz it's true.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 08:48 AM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/break...story?track=rss Hey, Tim, before you do that, two things: 1. Wait to see if there's even a season to sit out from, and 2. Ask Jermaine Dye how that "taking a year off" deal worked out for him. Aging player + "one year off" = retirement.
  23. [Michael Cole] "Randy Orton 60-Day Wellness Policy Suspension" is ALREADY TRENDING WORLDWIDE on Twitter!!!" [/Michael Cole]
  24. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 30, 2012 -> 10:33 PM) Orton will never grow up it seems. Maybe he feels he's becoming a legend, and after all, he IS the Legend Killer...
  25. Randy Orton suspended 60 days by WWE. Second violation of the Wellness Program.
