Local H was great last night! I was a bit underwhelmed by the new song and I could easily live without the Pink Floyd cover, but those were minor quibbles. Those guys bring it every time. They're playing Bottom Lounge on the 18th, and I'm thinking I might need to see them again...

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 01:10 PM) Make no mistake about it, this is my position as well- but clearly, yet inexplicably there isn't a shortage of Springsteen fans in the world, and I would imagine they might appreciate paying half of what admission was just a month earlier. Well, then I did my part by leaving two tickets out there to be had. The email didn't give me a password, it was a general link to a webpage. I'm sure the tickets didn't last stay available for long.

Not interested in Springsteen at all. I got an email telling me tickets were released for the shows. Clicked delete and went on with my day.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 06:50 PM) I've never asked this, are there any other of you that follow/used to follow Indy wrestling? Just curious...I know I saw flippedoutpunk has a Human Tornado icon. Not really, although I had one friend who worked for Windy City Wrestling a long time ago and another friend tried to start his own indy fed. I actually managed him one time in Wisconsin - did my very best Bobby Heenan imitation, including his "cower in the corner and try to shake the guy's hand" routine, took a noggin-knocker with my "protege" and flopped out of the ring onto the concrete floor. I had fun, and a couple weeks later actually got recognized in a mall up there and SIGNED AN AUTOGRAPH for a little kid!!!! -

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 01:10 PM) I want Angle to have one more E run. Him vs Punk or Bryan would rule. Even Sheamus. He'd have to get Vince to allow a part-time schedule, and VKM just gave one of those to Brock. Not sure if he'd want another part-timer on the roster. -
I am loving the new Bob Mould record. It comes out on Tuesday, but a couple of sites have been streaming it, and it's Bob at his best. Very reminiscent of Sugar, which isn't surprising, given that he's touring behind the 20th anniversary reissue of Copper Blue. Fantastic guitar-based alt-pop from a legend in the genre. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 09:20 PM) Well there goes that, if you believe Brocks really gone. Nah, he has a bunch of dates left on his contract. Vince is holding him off until WrestleMania season. Rumor is he might get a quick title run right before Mania. As long as Heyman stays on my TV, I'm fine with Brock being off it. -

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) Agreed, she got old real quick. I can see Heyman taking over at some point...I hope That would be ideal, but I can't see WWE doing that. I'd guess Foley or Flair way before Heyman - in fact, I'd predict a Vickie Guerrero rerun before I'd predict Heyman. The move to make AJ the GM completely killed her character. She went from being unpredictable and a little crazy to basically being a typical good-guy GM, the only real difference being she skips to the ring in a business suit. Color me bored. -
I love their season so much.

I enjoy most of Sheamus' matches and the ones I don't enjoy are the Del Rio matches. Del Rio without Ricardo would be unwatchable. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 16, 2012 -> 09:57 AM) Yeah, that seems to be the prevailing opinion at the moment, but they still have time to work it out. So Donald Fehr led the 1994 MLB strike. The two biggest fanbases in hockey are in Toronto & Montreal. In 1994, the Blue Jays were two-time defending WS champs and the Expos were the best team in baseball, but due to the strike never made the playoffs & moved to Washington. He's probably not liked too much up there. That connection totally escaped me! Interesting. I'm really not stressing over a work stoppage this year. The NHL has priced me out of wanting to go to games, so for me it's just a TV show being cancelled. I'll take my kid to Wolves games and be perfectly fine. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 08:17 AM) Ryback is boring as s***. Goldberg 2.0. I want Regal to come in and unexpectedly give him a difficult match and potato him like he did to Goldberg Oh, I didn't say I liked him! The fans last night were chanting FEED ME MORE along with him and he seemed to be getting cheered a bit. I would love to see the E use Regal for something worthwhile. THE NEWWWWWW Raw General Manager when they realize the AJ Experimant is failing, maybe? Personally, I'd like to see them give him a World Title run as a "gold watch" type of thing, but I doubt that would ever happen. -

As usual, WWE takes something that was getting over and finds a way to make it super-boring. What do all the guys want to see? AJ Lee in a business suit every week instead of half-naked. How do you enhance the Punk/Bryan feud after a couple of very interesting matches? Throw Kane into their matches then end the feud with no logical conclusion. On the plus side, I suppose, it seems that Ryback (AKA Pink-eyeback) seems to be getting over a little bit. I did like JTG yelling at the ref to "keep that pinkeye away from me!!" -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 06:16 PM) Mostly I love the ball going very far I made the ball go very far by using a wood bat, a well-timed swing, and my large rear end for leverage. If you don't have a large rear end, then yeah, a quintuple-walled bat may be the thing for you. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 08:14 AM) No wood bats in our league. And the graphics/color aren't an option. If you want a highly rated bat you get what it looks like, old man I know you whippersnappers love the Affliction graphics and the lovely sound of "TINK! TINK! TINK!", but in MYYYYYY DAAAAAYYYYYY, WOOD WAS GOOD! Now GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!!!!!! -

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 12:25 PM) If time is not an issue once I start working I'm gonna go back to training/pursuing a wrestling career. Its been 5 years since I had any kind of training but after the Summer of Punk last year I have the itch again. I've got a buddy who's the world champ for a very small time promotion (ARW) and he's had me meet the promoter (Rex Hart) and he likes my size. Good luck with it! If you ever made it big, it would be cool to kind of know someone whose push we complain about! -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 02:26 PM) We are moving to Schaumburg this fall due to a few factors(AHPD fields being completely torn out, and not wanting to get squashed by the #3 tournament team in the STATE), and this is the first time we have played ASA. We got a new team bat, the Worth Filthy http://www.worldshottestbats.com/worth-454-filthy-review.php Pretty stoked to get this thing going next thursday I know this plants me firmly in Old Man territory, but I really don't like graphics on bats. Natural wood color or black for me. -

Kevin Nash's greatest attribute was his innate ability to recognize the people who could help his career and attaching himself solidly to their nutsacks. The day Guerrero and Benoit won their titles was the day wrestling died? How about your 8-second title win? How about the Finger Poke of Doom? Imbecile. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/824153...ood-keeps-night -
I use Facebook daily, although it's losing some of its appeal lately. Tried Twitter, didn't like it at all, deleted my account. EDIT to add: If and when Facebook forces that awful Timeline on me, my usage will drop noticeably.

Kharma confirmed today that she was released by WWE. A lot of people are saying this is a dumb move by WWE, but honestly, outside of Beth Phoenix and Natalya (who the E hasn't been using much at all lately, either), who else is there for Kharma to realistically battle? If this was the Attitude Era, she could fight the guys, but in their current culture her options are very limited. I wonder what's next for her. Japan, maybe? -

I like the Punk heel turn, of course! It left me with a better feeling about a fairly disappointing Raw. That and the Miz win were pretty much the only highlights for me, other than Mae Young's teenaged hand! -
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) Mrs. Paterno has evidence that could exculpate her husband but has been keeping it to herself for months? That's nuts. Yeah, a Paterno would never withhold information.

I don't want Luongo because of his paper. Way too much for way too long. Is Bernier a decent option? He wants out of LA and everyone knows it, which would maybe lower what they can get for him. I'm not sold on him completely yet due to the small sample size, but he's young and inexpensive. Thoughts?
