  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 03:26 PM) He is right about people who suck doing more than him but he has angles and pushes in his career there. Yeah, I was a little disappointed in his comments. He had many chances there, including the Sin Cara angle just a couple months ago. He just hasn't really captured the interest of the masses. I really like Chavo and I hope if he signs with TNA they give him something interesting to do and don't just lump him in with the not-very-good Mexican America.
  2. More minutes for John Scott means more minutes of BAD hockey for the Blackhawks. Seriously, if Scott takes up most of Brian Campbell's minutes, the Campbell trade suddenly becomes a bad move. That's the ONLY WAY the Campbell trade could become a bad move.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 03:36 PM) Oh Come on Alexei Jose Reyes makes that play.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 03:34 PM) Why do I get Mets/Rangers? Luck of the draw?
  5. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 03:28 PM) why am i being forced to watch dodgers/angels if i want to watch baseball today because you're in Los Angeles?
  6. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 11:52 AM) I really wish we could get Ladd back somehow. The ThrasherJets are not giving him up, and I doubt he'd want to regress back into his role here after being given the C and a prominent role in their system.
  7. Chavo Guerrero got "future endeavored" yesterday. I'm surprised at this, I thought he'd be a lifer. How long until he pops up as a member of Mexican America in TNA....I mean, IMPACT WRESTLING?
  8. Riot Fest is way more in my wheelhouse than Lollapalooza every year. Some of the bigger names this year include Weezer, Social Distortion, Danzig, Descendents, X, Helmet, All, and the one that made me buy a ticket right away - the reunited D Generation! I'm very excited to see them!!
  9. Let's move the Islanders to Quebec to be the Nordiques, move the Blue Jackets to Hartford to be the Whalers, move the Coyotes to Kansas City to be the Scouts, move the Predators to Oakland to be the Seals, move the Panthers to Cleveland to be the Barons, and then hockey will be PURE AGAIN. Then they can give an expansion team to Atlanta and call them the Firebirds (a nod to the Flames and the Thrashers) and then two weeks later move them to Denver to be the Colorado Rockies!!!
  10. So which city is the early favorite to receive the next relocation of the Jets?
  11. The best idea I saw for a name was the Winnipeg Phoenix. This team will always be the ThrasherJets to me.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) I tuned in to Raw just in time to see that. That was very funny.
  13. The only time I was unhappy with Punk's promos was when they did that quasi-religious thing with him. He's best when he does realistic promos, and there's no better promo person in The E right now than Punk.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 06:33 PM) So, yeah, um, this "Quit Watching Wrestling" thing hasn't worked out so much for me. I saw an abundance of wrestling last night on Raw and with Miz as/was champ, Christian having great matches with Orton, and now Punk in the main event scene, I'm gaining hope for this company. Even got decently priced tickets for MITB. Unless they come (or have come) to some secret contract extension, the main event Punk run will be short-lived. What I would do is re-sign Punk secretly, have him win the title by some underhanded method at MITB, leave the company with the belt, then have the E strip him of the title and send people after him on the indy scene trying to get their property back. I know it won't happen because it would require the E having to co-operate with "small time promotions", but I think it would be fun to see guys like Miz, Sheamus, Christian, etc. doing run-ins on indy shows trying to get the belt back for Vince.
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) Every card I have been too in Chicago, the crowd hates Cena 90%. That would all change if only they'd hold RAW at a Chuck E Cheese.
  16. Trading Sharp would be a huge mistake, even though I understand that he holds the most value of any likely trade candidate. It would make the offense that much more lopsided and put more pressure on the top guys. I think they need another 2nd-line scorer (preferably someone with some size) and a physical defenseman who's NOT slower than The Mummy.
  17. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) I have absolutely no doubt about that statement. It wasn't spurred by anger or joy, but an appetite for destruction. Simple as that. It's clear to me that hockey brings out the worst in that city, so the NHL has no choice but to relocate the Canucks franchise. On second thought, the hooligans would probably just follow the team wherever they went, so the best thing to do for the safety of the people of Vancouver, and the NHL league-wide, is to dissolve the Canucks entirely and erase all mention of them from record books, tape libraries and future memorabilia production.
  18. I won't be able to watch the game tonight, so I'll just say it once: GO BRUINS!!!! In a way, I'm almost glad to miss the game - I don't want to see the Canucks (and their fans) celebrate should they win.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) Seeing Sarah Palin travel across the country in this big bus makes me wonder if she body slammed Yokozuna or something. Well, she IS a Narcissist...
  20. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 01:41 AM) haha wow, I never even caught on that no one has been saying belt Ive got a good feeling that once Vince is out of the equation thinks will change for the better.. especially if Trips is the new man in charge Yeah, I think HHH has a respect for wrestling that Vince seems to lack. I'm hopeful that whenever Vince retires/dies, Steph and HHH can put the "wrestling" back in World Wrestling Entertainment.
  21. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 09:52 AM) absolutely Im not a fan of that either A five-day title reign (that was actually a 2-day reign) really cheapens a title in my eyes as well. Another gripe I have is Vince's weird problem with the word "belt". He throws a hissy-fit if anyone refers to the leather thing with the gold plates on it as a belt or strap. Apparently, Vince thinks calling the belt a belt (or a strap) is old-time hokey carnival speak. That's asinine, IMO. I heard on Formerly Creative (a GREAT podcast created by former WWE writer David Lagana) that Paul London once was busted open legit during a match and did a really good intense, bloody backstage promo, only to have Stephanie squash it because London said that "______ will never take this belt from me". She told Lagana "You know I can't show that to Vince - he said BELT." and that was the end of that promo. To me, it's ridiculous to hear an announcer say that "Christian hit Randy Orton with the WWE title". Noooooo, he hit him with the BELT that represents the title!
  22. The thing about Elia's rant is when he went insane the Cubs were 5-14. 9 games under .500. After blowing all that smoke about "everyone in this organization being winners", they finished the season TWENTY games under .500. If the 2011 White Sox finish 71-91, more than half the people on this board will have collapsed lungs from booing. So who was right? The potty-mouth manager from the "organization full of winners", or the "15% of the world" Cub fans who knew they were seeing crap?
  23. According to Dallas Page, David Arquette donated every cent he made working for WCW to Brian Pillman's widow. Do I really have to respect David Arquette now???? I was so used to hating him....
