The "Loveline" radio show has a bit they like to do called "Germany or Florida". Their theory is that every weird news story in the world comes either from Germany or Florida, and listeners call in with the stories and Drew and Adam try to guess which place the story took place in. Funny stuff, cuz they're almost always right.

My question after reading this is: WHY hasn't Diaz learned a third pitch by now? Are the Sox' minor league instructors not teaching him one, or is he not able to learn one, or is he resisting being taught one? Maybe he sees himself as a closer someday, where maybe you CAN get away with two pitches? I honestly don't know why at this point in his career, he'd still only have two pitches...

Not getting Matt Clement is too bad for the short-term, but only because he was (maybe) the best of a dwindling pool of FA pitchers. I have my questions about him, given his second-half fade the past two seasons. I'd actually be okay with KW's remark of "waiting til June/July" to see who's out of the playoff chase and trying to dump players, except for the fact that without another legit starter, the Sox may well BE one of those teams. The AL Central is shaping up to be more competitive than last year, so there'll be no coasting in second place, waiting for something to happen IMO. I'd have been much happier if the Sox had been more aggressive earlier with better pitchers, but better pitchers are very expensive and the Sox have "budgetary restrictions", as we all know by now. I'm guessing that the Sox will now enter the "Overpay For Perez Or Lowe Derby", make their best offer and see if it's enough.

I don't know what makes one the "best" announcer ever, but Stone's absolutely on my short list of most enjoyable announcers ever. Great insight for the game, keeps it interesting and lively even with the nasal monotone, and a sly sense of humor. He's very very good, IMHO.

First wrong move by Dips*** Bettman was trying to market the NHL as if it was the NBA. Second wrong move by Dips*** Bettman was pushing expansion and relocation into areas that couldn't f***ing care less about hockey. Third wrong move by Dips*** Bettman was trying to roll back his own mistakes by forcing a salary cap on the players to prevent the owners from their own stupid salary structure. The players don't pay themselves, someone has to agree to the ridiculous numbers. This season is dead. Worry about next season. If next season dies, worry about the future of the NHL as a league.

If he waits until SoxFest, the announcement will be the Return Of Todd Ritchie. Gotta move NOW - this talk of "possibly waiting until June/July" worries me a LOT.

I don't mind the shootout to decide the second point. If teams can't decide the outcome in 65 minutes of play, then I don't really care if individual talent decides one point. Been to a few shootouts at Wolves games, and it's fun.

Again, I vote for SEXPOS or EX-HOES. EDITED TO ADD that MLB needs to sell that franchise to an actual f***ing OWNER. A real owner would have gotten the stadium details in order BEFORE moving the gaddamn team.

I'll say it again: If the crime reports listed that area by its nickname of "Wrigleyville" instead of its real name of "Lakeview" maybe even people as stupid as Tienowitz would understand that it's not as safe of a neighborhood as the propaganda would have you believe. Was there a stabbing at a house party in Bridgeport last weekend? I don't know. Was there one in Lakeview/Wrigleyville, less than 2 blocks from the Deadly Confines? YES THERE WAS.
