  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 08:09 AM) That was a cute skit with the medalists. Toews REALLY needs a vocal coach or acting lessons or something. He really drones when he speaks.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) Wait til Monday NIght Football returns in the fall. Impact will take an even bigger hit. Yeah, but to be fair, Raw will too. I imagine more "casual fans" watch WWE than TNA to begin with. To thud like this at the start of the "New War" is embarrassing, but TNA is putting on a brave face. There are reports floating out there saying that TNA and Spike expected low ratings at the start because of WrestleMania. If that's the case, why not wait until AFTER Mania to move to Monday nights? If they really took Mania into account and made the move anyway, that's just dumb. There's no traction to be gained from steadily sinking ratings immediately following a much-celebrated move to "TAKE ON THE WWE HEAD TO HEAD". All it does is make TNA look weak.
  3. Just read that Impact on Monday never topped 1.0 for any quarter-hour period, and the .8 was the lowest Impact rating since 2006, when it was a one-hour show in the later time slot. Ouch. Highest 1/4 hour rating = Q4 - .96 for the Beautiful People and Hogan calling out Sting. Lowest 1/4 hour rating = Q8 - .72 for the AJ Styles/Jeff Hardy match, rising a little to .74 when Flair took his big bump during the over-run.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 09:42 AM) We all knew how it was gonna turn out, but I still liked the reveal. Vince turning around and seeing the cast on the table. Critic, I know you don't agree, but Flair again last night going nuts was awesome. He still has it on the mic. You're right, I don't agree. I hate Hysterical Flair. It's like he never got over that "mental ward" skit they made him do in wCw.
  5. QUOTE (Tex @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 09:00 AM) Where are you getting those? Doobie Bros or Tom Petty would be perfect, but we're getting there the 22 or 23rd. Ticketbastard.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 06:34 AM) lol Bret Hart couldnt sell that broken leg to save his life. "which leg is broken? which side do i put the crutch on? " SURPRIIIIISE!!! IT WAS NEVER REALLY BROKEN!!!! .....yeah, no s***.....
  7. Here's what I could find for "big name" shows in July: 7/6 U2, Soldier Field 7/9 James Taylor & Carly Simon, United Center 7/16 and 7/17 Doobie Brothers & Chicago, Charter One Pavilion 7/17 Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, United Center 7/18 Iron Maiden First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre, Tinley Park 7/30 Bon Jovi, Soldier Field 7/31 Vans Warped Tour, First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre, Tinley Park
  8. I want the Sox to change uniforms. I like the fact that the Sox have had a ton of uniform changes in the past, and I think they're due for another. It's been 20 years, switch it up.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 03:52 PM) repeat-offender unfortunately offset by "golden boy league favorite".
  10. QUOTE (G&T @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 05:46 AM) That while the NBC commentators said he shouldn't have been given the game misconduct because hitting is part of the game. I guess I'm not "expert" enough to know that a two-handed shove from behind into the boards is what passes for hitting in today's NHL.
  11. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 11:27 PM) BREAKING NEWS: Brian Campbell done for the year. Broken collarbone, broken ribs, 2nd degree concussion. This really, really hurts the Hawks. If there was justice in the NHL (which there's not), Ovecheapshot would be gone for the year too.
  12. Also, U2 (July 6) and Bon Jovi (July 30) are playing Soldier Field. I'll be at U2 with my wife and my she's going to see Bon Jovi without me.

  14. Wow. That was horrible. And now they come home to face Washington? This can turn into a really bad weekend if they don't play 60 minutes tomorrow.
  15. HOSSA!!!! And a good standup by Seabrook starts the play!
  16. Ref couldn't get to his whistle fast enough that time!
  17. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 01:18 PM) I normally just stand there with a large erection when I vote. Not really considered patriotic....just inappropriate and weird. I think you're reading it wrong.....it's called Election Day.
  18. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 10:40 AM) During this is when I feel most patriotic oddly enough. Try voting sometime.
  19. QUOTE (GREEDY @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 09:44 AM) Grown men wearing shirts with other grown men's names on them is strange/creepy/sorry. When you get your driver's license you should have to turn in your jerseys. Grown men paying to watch other grown men play children's games is strange/creepy/sorry. Grown men signing up for Internet message boards to discuss said games is strange/creepy/sorry. When you get your driver's license you should never drive your car to a sporting event. There are many things that others might see as strange/creepy/sorry. If you don't want to wear a player's jersey, fine. Others might. It doesn't mean they're any stranger/creepier/sorrier than anyone else.
  20. With a couple notable exceptions, I'm interested in the Destination X pay-per-view: TNA World Heavyweight Title Match Abyss vs. AJ Styles NOT interested X Division Title Match Shannon Moore vs. Doug Williams NOT interested Tag Team Title Match Beer Money vs. Matt Morgan & Hernandez (This should be a solid match) Ultimate X Match for #1 Contendership to the TNA Tag Titles Generation Me vs. The Motor City Machineguns (This match could steal the show, unless the next one does) Ladder Match Amazing Red vs. Kazarian vs. Daniels vs. Brian Kendrick Scott Hall & Sean Waltman vs. Kevin Nash & Eric Young If Hall & Waltman win, they earn TNA contracts. If they lose, they have to leave TNA. REALLY, REALLY NOT interested Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson (I think this will be a good match as well) Unless Hogan and Bischoff make the backstage segments all about them, or they do s***ty momentum-killing, screwjob-ending run-ins (which are all but guaranteed in the title match and The Bland match), this could be a really good PPV.
  21. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) You f***ing commie bastard. Since I'm a total conformist, I might utter a quiet "woooooot" under my breath.
  22. I just found out that I will have the chance to stand respectfully and quietly during the anthem this Sunday!!!
  23. Tank - This Means War http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6Do6t8llXU Motorhead - Killed By Death Raven - Break The Chain
  24. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 11:29 AM) I stand quietly in respect, but it doesn't bother me to hear other people cheering. In fact, I enjoy others cheering. I hate people who talk during it or don't stand up. Talking is just quiet cheering.
