Too many "passed balls"!!!

Can't speak for everyone, but I want to go just to check out the "spectacle" of it once. Home run derby, celebrity softball game, futures game, and of course the game itself - it just sounds like fun to me. Plus, my 13-year-old nephew is a big baseball fan, so sharing the experience with him will be cool too. ...and I got in for 200 bucks total....yayyyyyyyyy!! Sure, they're upper deck box seats, but still..............yayyyyyyyy!! And NOW THAT IT MEANS SOMETHING, maybe we'll have a beanball war or a bench-clearing brawl!!!

Of course, any new guidelines would not affect ShamME's suspension - the Players ASSociation would see to that. And getting any hard-line rule put in place would involve quite a struggle, as well.

You bring up another interesting point - when Bartolo got suspended for 5 games, it was really only a one-start suspension. Is THAT fair? Shouldn't he really miss 5 starts? I guess you can THEORETICALLY argue that Bart would be available to pitch in some 16-inning game along the way, but realistically he's only getting a one-game suspension. If we're talking about rule changes, should the rules reflect "number of starts" for starting pitchers and "number of games" for relievers and position players?

That is some sick s***!! I think it was HBO that did a documentary on these mental case parents who whore their daughters up and trot them out there for these horrible pageants. I swear, those people should be beaten severely for doing that s*** to their children. Let your kid be a kid, for Christ's sake! Go dress up some f***in' dollies if you have the need, but wipe the makeup off your kid's face, put the party dress away and let the kid play with her toys!

It was a classless move, and to carry the Cubs-Sox analogy further, let's say ( for the sake of argument ) that Maggs hits .550 in the WS with 6 HR, but the Cubs win the Series ( like I said, ONLY for the sake of argument! ). The MVP is awarded to ShamME, who hit .410 with 3 HR, but played for the winning team. The Cub fans ( as is to be expected ) boo Ordonez. Is THAT right? Answer - NO. Ordonez is a classy player who doesn't show opponents up, and that's how Giguere is too. Boo an asshole, but respect the classy player, or else YOU become classless.

We'll see now if he can coach a decent team at the NBA level - he hasn't had the chance to do that yet.

I read reviews to get an idea of the plot, and to try to find out from the review if it's well acted or not. But I don't put much stock in the opinions of reviewers - Roeper's okay, but he's got his own little weirdnesses too. Kinda "too cool for the room" sometimes. I think Ebert starts his reviews by adding two stars if there are naked tits in the film - that's one horny fat bastard right there!!

I just think it's weak when ANYONE downs a teammate to the media. I say, NEVER feed the jackals! If you have a problem with a teammate, BE A MAN and confront that teammate. It was weak when PK did it, it's weak when anyone does it. Fact is, PK's quiet right now cuz he lives in a HUGE glass house. Nobody on this team has the right to talk s*** about anyone else right now. They can't even talk s*** about the TIGERS right now, cuz the Tigers have the season edge on them! The team as a whole has underachieved miserably, and they need to turn it around AS A TEAM.

Yeah, that's stupid. Maybe Big Dust promised O'Leary that he'd play Tuesday, thinking ShamME would begin his suspension, and then when it didn't happen, he still felt like he had to keep his promise. Doesn't make sense to bring up No-Glove Kelton if you're not going to play him the ONLY time it won't hurt the team. Plus, O'Leary's not even really an upgrade defensively from Alou.

Yeah, that sucked that they booed Giguere - he had a great playoff run and deserved the Conn Smythe. Too bad for Steve Thomas, though...it would have been nice for him to go from the middle of hockey "nowhere" to the Stanley Cup championship. And again, I am glad, that Daffy Duck's goalie mask will not be superimposed on pictures of the Stanley Cup for t-shirts, caps and various other collectibles. That logo sucks ass...

My only hope in any of this is that these f***tard parents put some money away for this kid's education, and don't blow it all on s*** for themselves. And there is no new low anymore - the bar has been lowered so far that it's laying on the ground and people are tunnelling under it. Personally, I don't trade Loaiza until it's certain that the team won't turn things around, and even then, it's gonna take more than that trade to part with him. I say wait until the last week or two before the trade deadline, and try to rob a contending team blind. ...not that KW would know how to do that, anyway, but still......

While the dopey nature of many Cub fans and the bias of the local yokel media ( both real and perceived ) is frustrating, the sheer arrogance of the Spankees and their cult members is more than I can take. Their attitude of entitlement, and the basic NY "I'm better than you cuz I'm from NY" mindset, make them unbearable to me. The Spanks are the first professional sports team I ever disliked - i was a big Reggie jackson fan when he was with the A's and Orioles, but when he wore the Pinstriped Suit Of Arrogance, I suddenly disliked him. Didn't understand it then...

Mine was probably the 1972 Sox, with some of my all-time favorite Sox players: Dick Allen Bill Melton Jorge Orta Rich Gossage Terry Forster Wilbur Wood Jay Johnstone Carlos May I can still remember going to REAL Comiskey and smelling the cigar smoke ( second-hand smoke will KILL ya, kids ) and watching games from that little fence area in the left field wall - good times.... That team finished in 2nd place, with a record of 87 and 67.

Found out last week - just before my birthday! NICE present, even though I have to pay for it myself!! I think I'd hang on to the $$$ for another week or two, then I'd give up the ghost. If they call you after you spend it...............well, you can always give blood!!!
