  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 06:15 AM) Lacey Von Erich seems like she has pissed off pretty much everyone Yeah, apparently she walks around backstage like she owns the place and doesn't take anyone's advice. Which is a bad thing when you can't wrestle or speak. She's real cute, but that ain't gonna save her from the unemployment line for long.
  2. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) By the way Critic... this has clearly been in the works since, at least, when Piper hosted Raw, when McMahon said he only had one more match left in him and it'd have to be someone special. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Whatever you say, Pratt.
  3. If Huet would just bring his glove up when he drops down, he'd help himself out a lot. Dropping with the glove at the hip or lower won't cut it.
  4. QUOTE (T R U @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 01:13 PM) I hope so.. As much as I loved HBK/Taker I don't wanna see it again because it cant end good.. either its the same result as last year or Undertakers streak ends, which I don't want to see happen.. At this point it would be stupid to end Taker's streak.

    Whatcha get?

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 12:56 AM) I got: Sons of Anarchy season 1 dvd set $10 Subway gift card Bears jacket (not really a football fan, tho) $110 in cash $80 in Kohl's gift cards which I used to get 4 polo shirts (one awesome rust-colored polo) and a pair of pants) a long-sleeved shirt with a zipper that's not my style. I ended up returning that long-sleeved zipper shirt and got another polo shirt instead. I feel like a horrible son, tho, cause mom got it for me and I feel real guilty returning it. Does anyone else feel guilty returning gifts? I don't. I know I'd rather have someone return a gift I gave them if they weren't happy with it. Sometimes you guess wrong when buying for someone, and that's why gift receipts were created.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 02:41 AM) Anyone watch Raw tonight? I didn't but reading the results, sounds like a set-up for Hart/HBK at WM? That would be about the most epic thing ever done. They're definitely setting up some sort of showdown. Michaels told VKM to bring Bret back because "only good things will happen". VKM ponders the comment, gets an evil grin and announces Bret as guest host next week. I just wonder if Bret has even one more match in him - he hasn't looked very good the last bunch of times I've seen him.
  7. What a great/terrible/great third period! Patrick Kane = :headbang :headbang
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 27, 2009 -> 10:07 AM) I will say this much. It would f***ing suck to have a great season and finish either first or second in the points standings in the west, and then draw a newly healthy Detroit team in the first round. That's a very real concern. However, a rivalry opponent in the first round would be a good thing, IMO. Makes sure there's no complacency. (I don't think we have to worry about complacency with this team, though. They seem to show up for almost every game with very few exceptions)
  9. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 26, 2009 -> 09:32 PM) I'm reading this thread from page one and I noticed a lot of you didn't want Huet to be the Hawks' goalie this season. What would you say on his performance so far this season? I'm very happy with his play since the shaky start, but it's the not yet winning a playoff series that still concerns me. Obviously that won't even be in his power to change until April, but the higher the playoff seed the Hawks earn, the better the chances of taking care of that first-round opponent. Unless they win the President's Cup, that is.....

    Whatcha get?

I JUST posted this on WSI, so I'm going to go lazy and copy/paste: I still have Christmas Part II coming up on New Year's Day, but so far the haul goes like this: Hawks t-shirt sweatpants White Sox shorts Book - "Gasping For Airtime" by Jay Mohr Wii game - Game Party 2 (something fun to play with my daughter) White Sox musical bottle opener cologne $100 Best Buy card Not bad so far!
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 25, 2009 -> 09:18 AM) It has the potential to be much more if Vince plays his hand right. One would think he knows this could be a bigtime money maker for him, promotions(tshirts, merchandise), PPV hits, DVD sales, etc. If Vince blows it right off the bat and lets this get away from him I will be disappointed What major angle has the E played correctly in recent memory? They blew the wCw Invasion, the last attempt at the nWo was a disaster, and Vince intentionally f***ed up ECW. I don't expect ANYTHING from this Hart angle, but I'm hoping to be proven wrong.
  12. Merry Christmas to all the message board nerds here at Soxtalk!
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 11:19 PM) I'm worried that Bret is still emo and won't even consider sharing the screen with HBK which would be an epic face off. There's speculation that Michaels would be okay with working with Hart, since he's born again and all that. HHH is supposedly the one being a b**** about it. Not sure how Hart feels, but you know the scenario had to be brought up during negotiations. I bet it happens, since there's not much time on the contract. This has to be a quick-hit, high-impact kind of deal.
  14. So Flair wants a safety net deal, too? Lots of confidence they're showing in their own abilities to carry a federation: Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter - The latest on Ric Flair is that he has not signed with TNA as of this week. Flair was out of the country on vacation last weekend but word is that TNA is putting pressure on him that if he doesn't sign and appear on the January 4th show then the offer may be pulled. The issue most likely is Flair not wanting to go with WWE's competition. However, money plays a factor as the last time WWE made him an offer it wasn't even close to what TNA is offering. It's believed that WWE's last offer to Flair was somewhere around $250,000 per year. Flair hasn't spoken with WWE about any kind of offer recently. As noted before, Flair wants to sign with Panda Energy in case TNA goes under, he still gets paid. Flair feels that since Hulk Hogan signed a deal under the same circumstances with Panda, he should get the same treatment.
  15. QUOTE (SockMe @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 02:18 PM) really? Cause I have a great feeling! SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP I just hate Nashville's style of play. HATE it. So dull, takes away everything beautiful about hockey. If that team was my first exposure to the sport, I don't think I'd like hockey at all.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 10:15 AM) Will a younger audience remember The Outsiders? Since they probably only know Hogan as Brooke's Dad, I doubt it.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 09:21 AM) What, we are gonna be surprised that Hogan goes back to the well that made him a lot of money without Vince? As soon as Hogan signed I knew the NWO was coming. I wonder what lame acryonym they come up with Don't get me wrong, I'm not surprised in the least. I just think it's a desperate move that is destined to fail. It's funny how TNA washes their hands of Hall, and then takes Nash's word that Hall "SOUNDS GREAT!!" I'm sure I'll flip back and forth like most people on the 4th, but the AARPWO is not what I'll stay tuned for. Oh, I saw a great nickname for Hogan on another board - Hindenburg Hogan! I love it!
  18. One more straw is grasped: source: www.pwtorch.com According to multiple sources within TNA, Scott Hall is expected to appear on the live episode of iMPACT! opposite Raw on January 4, 2010. Hall is expected to reform an Outsiders/nWo reunion with Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman, but without the WCW labels due to World Wrestling Entertainment owning the trademarks. Some within the company are assuming that Hulk Hogan will also be part of the nWo reunion. Hall last appeared in TNA two years ago, briefly feuding with The Angle Alliance (Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and Tomko). Hall was scheduled to partner with Nash and Samoa at the December 2007 pay-per-view, Turning Point, but Hall no-showed the event. During the live show, Joe cut a heated promo on Hall while Nash stood in the background. The incident went on to be the backstory for the lengthy feud between Nash and Joe. Despite Hall’s poor track record with the company, recent reports regarding his behavior at independent shows have been positive. In a recent Twitter post, Nash vouched for Hall with the following: “Talked to Scott on Monday (December 7) and he sounded great!”
  19. The Hawks played another perfect road game. Forecheck hard, clog the passing lanes, kill the penalties and take advantage of a couple mistakes. Niemi was great again. I'm such a natural pessimist, but it's difficult for me to find much to complain about right now.
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 22, 2009 -> 05:22 PM) Sometimes I like to separate and eat my M&Ms/SweetTarts/Skittles by color. Why would you ever NOT do this? Eating random Skittles, getting all the flavors intertwined? PASS.
  21. The only thing that consoles my sadness over Bea Arthur's death is the soothing music of Yoko Ono.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 11:22 PM) I can't wait for the Preds home and home. It would be nice to get some space after that, all though we do have a ton of games in hand. I hate the Predators. The way they play almost makes me dislike hockey.
  23. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 22, 2009 -> 12:46 AM) RAW tonight basically typified how much WWE and Wrestling in general has gone downhill from a decade ago. Agree. That Little People's Court bit was embarrassingly bad. Hornswoggle in general is done. Not funny at all in any scenario. For me, Santino is the only sure thing as far as bringing the funny, unless they stick him with Hornswoggle.
  24. Huet was named the NHL's #1 Star of the Week. His GA is down to 2.01. Things are going REALLY well right now.
