QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) I actually batted 4 times, I had a sac fly. We won it in 5 innings via slaughter, and batted 12 players http://www.leaguelineup.com/gamesum_baseba...GameID=18575822 Is that something new? I've never heard of batting 12 guys. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 01:08 PM) Maybe he walked like 3 times? Yeah, that had crossed my mind. I usually mentioned my walks, so I thought I'd ask. Oh, and on August 9th I'm scheduled to waddle around a softball diamond for the first time in like 7 or 8 years. I'm excited but apprehensive. My feet and legs are feeling better than they have in a while, but running is still going to be a bit of a problem. Definitely going to play infield, probably 2B or SC. (16" tournament) -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 06:57 AM) We won 26-4 last night, I was 2/3 with a double, 2 runs and an RBI. After starting the season 2-3, we are now 6-3 and we are possibly going to sneak into second place if everything breaks right. Did you guys empty the bench? How did you only bat 3 times while scoring 26 runs? -
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 12:18 PM) Tommy Ramone. Unbelievable to me that all of the original Ramones are dead. Cancer sucks. RIP Tommy. 1-2-3-4!!

If they would write proper stories for him, that is. I think that was the final straw for him - he was getting burnt out anyway, and the stuff they were having him do was just bland. The surprise for me was how bad his feud with Paul Heyman was. That, in theory, should have been a classic feud on the mic, but it fell so flat. I don't know if their hearts weren't in it, or what, but the whole thing felt forced and weak. I'm not sure if Punk will ever go back to WWE, unless he got a Brock-like contract. With a kid on the way, and reportedly being very good with his money, I wouldn't think he will want to commit to a full WWE schedule again. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 08:55 AM) Yup, and that's been my point throughout this thread. If the Sox went on a run like the San Francisco Giants, people would feel privileged to buy those "expensive" tickets. But instead they have one playoff appearance in 8 years and no one wants to go. Families aren't being out priced, they just aren't excited enough about the product on the field to spend the money. Absolutely. Most teams need to win to draw, and the Sox need it more than most, it seems. Or maybe it's just magnified because there's another option in town, and one that's more popular at that.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 13, 2014 -> 09:35 PM) I realize the BlackHawks play half as many home games, but the seats next to mine at the United Center 10 rows back in the upper deck corner sell for $100+ every home game on StubHub. And they are full every time, very often with families of four. Buying beer and Hawks shirts and nachos and $6 sodas. These families are spending $600 or $700 just to go to a Hawks game, yet nobody has any money to buy a $20 Sox ticket? Bulls***. That's because the Hawks are good now. When the Hawks were bad, those people were not there (in fact, few people were). If the Sox are good, those people appear at USCF. That's just how it goes. The Cubs have the mystique of a park where they've never won anything, and football has 8 home games per year. Other teams need to be competitive to draw. Fact is, the White Sox are the 2nd team in town as far as popularity, and I'm not sure how they can overtake the Cubs (or that they can at all).

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 04:06 PM) If the doctors don't clear DB to wrestle and he has to vacate the title, they should turn it into an angle where Steph paid the dr off to say he wasn't cleared. Doubt WWE thinks that stuff up though. That one is such a no-brainer. I'd actually be surprised if they didn't do that. As for the Shield, Reigns is going to get the big babyface push, and I think they have faith in Ambrose on his own anyway, so the Evolution rub does benefit Rollins the most. -

Monday's WWE RAW drew a year-low cable rating of 2.64. This was the lowest RAW rating since New Year's Eve 2012. I'm sure WWE will blame Bryan for this, but the writing is horrible and there are very, very few interesting stories going on. They are in such a holding pattern, it's ridiculous. Ratings have steadily dropped, and there's nothing to suggest that anything good is on the horizon. -
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 23, 2014 -> 02:54 PM) He is such a scumbag. I hated him for him before, during, and since the Hawks had him. Yep. Worthless piece of s***, he is.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 24, 2014 -> 09:49 AM) Bo and Bray couldn't have different body types, but damn do they look the same in the face and sound similar on the mic Yep. To the point where I wonder why he wasn't brought in as a Family member. I'm not as into the Bolieve gimmick as some people on the rasslin' Facebook pages I go to, but I'm going to wait and see what they do with it before I crap on it. I kind of preferred his "so facey you hate him" gimmick he had in developmental. I think I would have liked it if he debuted thinking he was the "new guy" in Evolution and Triple H had to keep telling him to get lost, but that probably is too jokey for the Evolution storyline. -

The 30-day rule is every bit as much of a prop as the World title itself. They use it when convenient and ignore it when convenient. Whether or not they use it this time depends IMO on how much time Bryan will need to recover. I do think he's much better chasing the title than holding it. (although he's VERY hard to watch now that his wife is part of his storyline) -
In the LA series, it ain't a series til the home team wins a game.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 6, 2014 -> 12:28 AM) Just watched RAW. What a pile of monkey crap tonight was. The Bryan/Kane segments were pure nonsense. Adam Cole debut was beyond terrible with Michael Cole acting like he was 12. Yep. All the Mania momentum is gone. Even the Wyatts stuff is coming off a bit flat (although he is still the highlight of the show for me). -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 2, 2014 -> 09:37 AM) How "Ass Man" got engraved into the cup. http://hockey-time-machine.tumblr.com/post...and-when-it-was Billy Gunn won the Cup in '45??? Also, "Ass Train" is not something I'd want engraved next to my name.

RIP Mighty Joe Young, guitarist of veteran punk band Antiseen. Finally saw them for the first time last year. They are supposed to play Reggie's on June 27th, not sure if that will happen now.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 10:03 PM) I may actually cry the day we lose Heenan. That will be a very sad day for me, too. That guy entertained me since I was 8 years old. The best ever, in my opinion. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 09:37 PM) I literally do not fit in their seats at 6'1". It's impossible. Yeah, I could see that being a problem. Luckily, width is my issue, not height.

I saw McCartney in 1989 and my wife saw him at Wrigley Field a couple years ago, so we passed on this tour.

It's so sad to see what Flair has become. He was the best talker in the game at his peak, and now he's just embarrassing. I thought the Wyatt segment went too long. It was a good idea, but having Cena stand in the ring for what seemed like an hour rubbing his face lessened the impact of it, and having Bray sit and laugh for as long as he did made it feel fake. They could have cut the time in half and made it more effective. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 08:01 AM) Spirit Airlines is very cheap if you give up all rights as a human being. Other than the incredibly long line at O'Hare (particularly frustrating since we had checked in online and printed our boarding passes, as most of the others in line had, too), Spirit was fine. My "personal item" bag was plenty big enough to hold everything I needed outside of our checked bag, and I carried on some snacks so no free snacks didn't bother me. The plane was a bit snug, but it's really just a bus in the air anyway.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 10:24 AM) I'm not listening to it but sounds like Colin Cowherd is using this to put down wrestling on his show. We all get why people don't watch but to use a human beings death to mock a billion dollar business is weak. I could argue that sports talk show host aren't real journalists and shouldn't be taken seriously. That imbecile shouldn't be taken seriously ever. He's nothing but a Mariotti. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 04:22 AM) They put 21-1 graphics up immediately and looking back, WWE printing a Eat Sleep Beat the Streak t shirt makes a lot more sense. Cole definitely knew listening to him. Heyman based on his reaction I'm not so sure. But dude is the most amazing actor in the business so he probably did. The no music playing was brilliant. It lead to the most amazing crowd reaction I've ever seen. Yeah, I'm sure it was planned that way, although I would bet anything that they had 22-0 and 21-1 graphics ready just to be covered for any result.
