Pal, you're calling me a dick and getting upset about words on a screen. You need to take your own advice. None of this is that serious, and the one making emotionally driven posts appears to be you. Btw, I love bumping old threads. Some here don't like it, but I love it for the laughs. -

People online really need to get out of their feelings and stop thinking things are personal. I never call people names or get personal. We're all just shooting the s%*# about the White sox. If I hurt your feelings, no offense but people should look in the mirror and ask how it's possible their feelings can get hurt talking about a baseball team. Pretty embarrassing! The woe is me stuff is also super cringe. -
This not related to this situation as Shota has been getting kilt, but the past 7-8 years of playoff baseball has been a battle of what manager can ignore common sense the least. It has become the manager show.

Crochet Trade Outcome Tracker
Look at Ray Ray Run replied to Look at Ray Ray Run's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think there are a few things that count against the Sox. 1. Continuing to bet on Crochet, even just to trade him at the deadline, I believe would have netted more than they got. 2. Crochet extension is going to end up being well under market value which will add to his value as the deal goes on, even though it was signed post trade 3. True #1 SP are the most valuable asset in baseball in the playoffs these days - especially as the league shifts towards more arms and shorter outings. Crochet is more and more rare of an asset as time goes on imo. I believe they could turn around and trade Crochet tomorrow for more than the Sox got. -

If there's no way to judge this trade for 3-4 years, how can Getz get a passing grade this past season because of the Crochet trade? I agree by the way. -

Sox traded another generational talent for a utility infielder, a volatile reliever, a corner outfielder rocking a 144 ISO in AA, and a ++ Catcher. Crochet lead the Red Sox to the playoffs (not a playoff team without his starts and record), and then just dominated one of the best offenses in the game to carry his team to a game 1 win. Meanwhile, people are posting videos of Kyle Teel hitting homers for a 60 win baseball team and saying "thank you Crochet." 😂 In year one the Red Sox have undoubtedly won the trade. On to year two! -

Some of us have been talking about the possibility of greatness since day one, others are bumping threads dunking on people even though they've proclaimed the Crochet trade a win for the Sox. Only a select few of us have been consistent since day 1. Crochet is a unicorn. You dont trade unicorn given their scarcity. Teel and Meidroth cant replace a guy who has the skillset to piggy back a team to a title. If montgomery isnt a ++ big league player, the Sox and Getz lose another trade badly. What im trying to understand is why are you and westeddy pounding your chest on a players performance that you both sing Getz praises for trading lol? -
They don't make the playoffs without him. If they do anything this post season it'll likely be because of him. Guy has owned the Yankees too. Guy is a freak.

100 MpH on pitch 117.

Garrett doing what Garrett does. Allows 2 base runners but keeps pitch count low and gets out of it.

Getz 2025 Grade: your vote matters.

WestEddy acts like he's behind the scenes with the White Sox assessing their day to day processes and value add from data implementation perspective. Sam Hinkie Jr over here. "Trust the process." No matter the results. -

Sports are a results centered industry, not process centered. The things you list only matter if you get results. Otherwise they're just pathways of distributing garbage. Improving "process" so it can be run by incompetent people isnt a win in any regard. My argument has not always been there's no reason to be positive, but I am honest about one of the worst GMs in professional sports. the Sox never lost more than 101 games in my lifetime until last year. Now they've done it two years in a row. Theyre running record low payrolls relatively speaking. -

Oh yes, The cloud! How could we forget. That must have added at least 10 wins. What's ridiculous is you thinking org structures are what wins in professional sports. Garbage in is garbage out in the data world, and the Sox have a ton of garbage going in. While I don't bow at the gospel of public rankings, it's really all we have to go off of as it relates to league perspectives. The Sox farm system got worse and it had nothing to do with graduations, and their most valuable pieces lost a lot of shine. You can put your fingers and your ears and scream as to not hear the truth, but if the farm and development are the secret to the Sox success it appears they're heading in the wrong direction, and if that's what we're hanging Getz success on then IDK what to tell you. -

In Hagen Smith's last 4 starts he threw 16.2 innings and walked 16 guys. They fixed him? All systems will have some guys get better. Some fans are acting like no other teams have guys who they draft play well. Bonemer has been good and will get his name on some top 100 lists for sure. McDougal is a 45 prospect, nothing to hang your hat on. Meanwhile Smith looks like a reliever and Schultz went from a bonafide stud to a huge question mark. Help me understand how are the minors improving when the players are regressing and the system took a step back? -

The best prospects in the system got worse, though? The system in general regressed from where it was viewed a year prior. While Teel looked great, it cost a top 5 pitcher in baseball this year to acquire him so the celebration there by Sox fans has just been odd. Montgomery wasn't even a Getz guy. Hiring middle managers and buying some belts and cameras that everyone else has isn't winning a World Series. -
Why would a GM be the decider of hitting/pitching coaches. That's not how it works basically anywhere.

The amount of B's is incredible. The past year, Getz cut payroll 50+ million to the lowest it's been in over two decades! He also had a farm system (pre-Crochet trade) that was ranked in the top 11 everywhere. One year later, that farm system is in the back half of all rankings in the league - meaning it got worse. The reason the Sox were competitive was because of a pick Getz didn't make (Colson) and since we're not giving him any blame for his tenure prior to his current role, he certainly deserves no credit. So the Sox had the 2nd worst record in baseball, they were the cheapest they've been in 20+ years, and their farm system got worse YoY despite still being the worst team in the AL. Somehow, in the mind of some fans, he's done B work. I hope you all aren't educating our youth with those standards. -
Amazing to see so many coaches released after the "B" performance that was filled with positive things.

https://bloggingtheredsox.com/2025/09/04/red-sox-yhoiker-fajardo-named-carolina-league-pitcher-of-the-month-for-august/ Not sure how I missed this, but love giving this guy up so we could have the pleasure of owning Cam Booser and his 6.5+ ERA as a 33+ year old. Another example of Getz at his finest.

Ah yes, now that the Cease trade was a bomb, he had "less value" than we thought. -

Only risk with Monty I see is the back, which is a scary risk as we've already seen it crush his performance, but if he's healthy hes a star. -
If you don't see being the 2nd worst team in baseball as a positive.... Amazing what losers Sox fans have become.

C is a passing grade. The Sox passed zero tests this year. D or F only options. -

Its funny how Getz gets no blame for Sox performance because he wasnt in charge and inherited the mess.... supposedly. Yet Stearns didnt sign 95% of the players on the 400 million dollar payroll, yet he's responsible for all of it. In fact, in 2024 Stearns barely spent much money but made some good moves and got the team to the NLCS in his first season at the helm. This year, he signed Soto and Clay Holmes and that's basically it. Extended Pete for 2 years. Stearns = responsible for everything that happened before he arrived, took team to NLCS in year one but is called a failure. Getz = not responsible for anything prior and basically not responsible for any outcomes today, even though hes actually been with the org the entire time, and he's overseen one of the worst stretches in MLB history. Hilarious the mental gymnastics people will go through here. Adding: also funny how Milwaukee continuing on successfully is somehow a negative for Stearns instead of an indicator that he built a well functioning machine that wasn't predicated on the presence of one person.
