Tell me how their core is just as good. Tatis is the only young big league prospect that has excelled so far - I guess I'd say paddack as well. If the sox signed machado and abreu their payroll would be like 60 million. How are those the same place? Please tell me who the myers and hosmer contracts are on the white sox.

Would you trade for Mookie Betts, and what would you trade

No. Why trade any long term assets for a 1 year rental that you can buy next year without giving up assets? -
I did read. People have said repeatedly his contract would pay for itself and it's just not true. Yes, someone said it may be short lived but then who cares? What's the point of bringing it up.
-
This numbers means nothing if the contracts impede on winning going forward. That one year attendance bump would be cancelled out by the decline caused by bad contracts weighing down your payroll and preventing you from winning.
-
Deferrals make it much different. Its basically 14 years 210 million. This is the same shit they did with Harper. The nats have a history of offering big money but not nearly as big as it sounds as they defer a lot of it making it a much smaller offer per year.

Man, people really need to stop citing the $10m/WAR figure as if that's how you analyze it. 3 WAR is not worth 27 million. I'm not sure how many times this needs to be said, but that's not what teams were paying for 1 WAR at time of signing - it's what teams pay on average for WAR based on all FA and their production throughout their contract. Teams are more than likely looking to get about 5-6 WAR out of the front end years on a 30 million/year contract. Those numbers are skewed by older contracts to guys like pujols.

Dtv broke when att bought it. It was once the only good cable/internet/phone (utility) company in the country. Great customer service, always took care of you if you were a long time customer. Could call and get new customer price, Sunday ticket discounts and etc.. Then att bought them and they went to complete shit. -

Think sanchez is playing for gold glove reasons. Dont think he wins it but he certainly deserves it. -
I thought so as well but was surprised by the crowd in general. 17k not bad for season being over.

Fun game. Cordero has been great. And what an incredible play by Timmy - the timing with the hops was unreal.
-
Got it. At the game, and happy it's nothing bad. Just think he needed to increase his innings a little more. Also a bit disappointed as I hadn't caught him live yet. That selfish reason doesn't matter, just the innings increase does.

No.

For the reason being his back injury, I would take Moncada over Tatis. I'll take Yoan, over Gleybar, because he switch hits. Can't go wrong with any of them though, that's for sure.
-
Gio is awesome, but I'd take Yoan Moncada ahead of every other person listed in that article.
-
Anderson is certainly worthy - as is Giolito. It's just that Moncada is more worthy than everyone.

http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/27691514/meet-class-2019-mlb-players-graduated-stardom Two White Sox on this list, bud oddly enough their best player is not one of them (Yoan). Wonder what their justification is for that.

Loss? Is that implying mitch has been anything but bad in this game? -
FTFW

Machado is great at 3rd, and single season defensive metrics are volatile, but by FG's defensive value, Yoan has been better than Manny this year.
-
3rd base grades out as a slightly more valuable position so his production their would hold more value.
-
They're both certainly stars. They just may not be perennial mvp candidates.
-
Machado is great there, but the difference between the two is negligible over the next 9 years (assuming growth from Moncada and standard age regression from Machado). The Sox would be better off spending 300 million on pitchers than a position player. We didn't know that last off season so the White Sox do not deserve credit for that, but speaking today? The White Sox got lucky and it turns out Tim and Yoan got way better, and Abreu had a really nice year with the bat. So with Madrigal in the fold, they simply did not need another infielder - especially for 20-25% of their payroll over the next 10 years. Manny showing that last year was the outlier, not the new norm, also makes it look better. b****ing about not having Machado at this point is just b****ing to b****. Harper at least would fill the one positional need they need. Manny caused more changes and created more variables and looking back in hindsight, the Sox caught a break.

Moncada has been damn good at 3rd. No guarantee hed be good at 2nd or in RF.
-
Dogs it then makes last out of an inning in a 1 run game at 3rd base. What a bonehead.

What an idiot Rosario is.
