Rodon to IL; Giolito activated
How you deal with failure is what separates the successful from those who flame out. Lambert has already managed it well once and made a major adjustment to fix it. That's a real good sign. He may get destroyed in some games, but he'll learn and adapt or he won't and he'll fail, but he won't fail because his feelings were hurt. It rarely has to do with ones psyche being hurt.

Why does he need to pitch in AAA? Mark buehrle promoted at 21 after just over 200 minor league innings pitched. Jose Quintana

Rodon to IL; Giolito activated
Yeah, but if they are officially diagnosing him with swelling in the flexor mass, it's just as likely he strained it or tore it and if he tore it he wouldnt throw for 3 months but that's not the 8 months before you throw with TJS... so here's to hoping it's that.

Most easily relatable.. this is possibly a case of tennis elbow. When you strain your flexor mass as a regular Joe - we call it tennis elbow.

Covey over Lambert or anyone else is so predictable and simply exhausting. Not sure how many times the White Sox need to see Covey. He's the pitcher version of Engel. Undeserved chances over and over.

He would actually be a classic early call up candidate. Hes older - 24 Has thrown 150 innings in a season Has + command Has made a significant adjustment already in his career to become successful Has performed well at AA for about 50 innings. Isn't a big prospect who would feel added pressure.

They're going to limit him in general this year. They should limit him at the big league level. They're not really trying to push his pitch count or innings high in a single start.

Also, at this point... Charlotte has turned as absurd as PCL baseball. Cease could very possibly have a lower ERA at the big league level than in Charlotte because of how hitter friendly that league is. For a reference point - look at Syndergaards AAA numbers vs his MLB numbers.

I'd love to see the Sox continue their slow evolution as an organization and aggressively promote someone like Jimmy Lambert. He's not a top tier prospect for you and can continue his development at the big league level. He throws strikes and lives up in the zone with his fastball. Both of those work on the modern game.

Pitchers only have so many bullets in their arm. Use them while you control them at the big league level. I have always been very pro-aggressive promotion track for arms given their fragility and volatility.

Absurd pitch counts on a consistent basis throughout his college career. Rodon got used and abused by NC State more so than your average college ace (who are already overused).

I think the Sox should consider calling up Jimmy Lambert.

How would they be rushing him? Cease doesnt need to dominate AAA hitters much longer.

Rodon's overuse in college cant be overstated enough with the way his career has transpired.

May 1 vs O's straight doubleheader 3:10 PM start time
He lit his teammate up on the field in front of everyone. His teammate did something epicly stupid but there's a time and a place to address it and doing it like that is a Bush league move.

What I learned today is Andrew Cashner is an asshole.

Have to agree. That was remarkably bad.

Ahh got it.

Dont understand why they dont give Manny a chance vs a hot hitting Boston team.

Luis Robert, others Promoted
Why 400? Why does he need to do something unseen? If he dominates and is 50-60% better than the league again, or better, theres zero reason to keep him there.

Marcus Stroman as a trade & extend target (don't laugh)
5'8 starting pitcher who cant consistently perform or finish a season. Hard pass. Baseball history books dont have any good 5'8 or less starters.

Luis Robert, others Promoted
What is your cut off. If he's putting up a 900+ ops in that park and that league, that's pretty damn impressive and would still warrant a promotion imo.
-
Luis Robert, others Promoted
Not for a kid who has played on a professional circuit before though. He's played at an elite international level as well. He's not your typical college/high school prospect because of that.

Luis Robert, others Promoted
If Robert hits, the White Sox have no made-up excuse. Eloy isn't a great base runner or defender so they could, incorrectly, hide behind him needing more work there. Robert is a great defender and base runner, so if he's hitting with an OPS north of 1000, there's really no excuse for him not to be ready.

If he dominates AA, the Sox will be feeling the pressure come mid-June and July.
