  1. Sox have been selling longer than any team but have gotten nothing done. This means one or two things: 1. Getz has no idea about market value (similar to hahn) and has overplayed his hand badly. 2. The Sox have no idea what to do.
  2. If Eloy wasn't made of glass he'd probably be carlos Lee. The injuries and time away have undoubtedly hurt him offensively and made him useless.
  3. He's a really talented kid, but Sox don't seem to be the ones that could fix him. His numbers as a 21 year old were impressive but he's broken right now.
  4. This is a business. Crochet can only hurt his value today. The team who acquires him would probably prefer these extra innings for themselves. I want to keep crochet so I'm fine pitching him but Getz is trying to move him....
  5. Who cares? If he stays you pitch him Wednesday. The Sox season is over. Crochet needs his innings monitored. It makes zero sense to pitch him today but Getz is a buffoon
  6. Jazz and Randy certainly in the ballpark.
  7. Holding a guy down for non-baseball reasons. What I find possible is that Getz has no idea what he's doing here and teams are moving on.
  8. I think it's a trash move personally.
  9. I agree its not an obstacle but not because of what boob said. In fact, nearly every player in the game would understand why he was resting. These guys are professionals and this is their job. Garrett is basically on the league minimum.
  10. Of course it's not, why wouldn't a team with money be willing to lock up one of the games elite arms?
  11. Chris Getz was the director of player development. The White Sox have less talent than any team in baseball. It doesn't matter who you want to blame, those outcomes are his responsibility.
  12. I asked you for a yes or no answer. Nothing else.
  13. An absolutely insane take. I didn't read after the word yes.
  14. Yes or no. Do you think Chris Getz has done better than bad as GM of the White Sox?
  15. The problem is with the exception of fedde, who I'd argue was a rental always to acquire players, none of the moves he made with the future in mind have panned out. The fletcher's of the world are an indictment on Getz player model and evaluation. It's consistent throughout the "undervalued" (in his eyes) markets he targets.
  16. I like eflin, but he's not 100% right right now. Still a nice add for a team in need of multiple starters
  17. Max already said he wasn't waiving his no-trade to go anywhere.
  18. As a team, I'd like more than 2 years of FA but agree with the $$ amount per year. This whole report honestly makes no sense. Garrett Crochet can't really refuse to play or dictate how a team uses him.
  19. This, plus some other metrics and data dives, makes me really nervous about Thorpe. Will hitters simply adjust to the change in the bigs and destroy all his value? His change being good doesn't explain his FIP either. Even Mark Buehrle, who did everything else perfectly, had a fip only .3 higher than his ERA. Thorpe seems to be getting better so I hope that continues but he's concerning for me.
  20. Deloading speaking more of routine and arm build-up while weighing increased workload, no? I'm not shocked to see them bulk Crochet and then maintain schedule and routine on limits rest of the way because it limits the total deloading of rest and then throw-resuming sporadically throughout the year.
  21. We're just talking in circles. If you think what crochet is doing is just another good half, I can't help. There are 8 instances i could find of 107 inning stretches matching crochets current stretch. In 25 years.
  22. Since 2010, sale has the 15th most ip in MLB.
  23. Tyler glasnow just got 140 million. In 8 years prior he threw 530 innings topping out at 120. Anyone who questions crochet value to the Sox can point to the 30 year old injury risk who just got 140 million.
