TA likes ominous tweet: The trade Anderson thread
You guys allowed a down season to really slant your views of a video that had nothing odd about it at all: Odds are they found out earlier. Everyone is clapping, no one is mad. The locker room isn't segregated. Jaysus guys. The team was down at that time too and Tim wasn't going to treat an individual achievement as some all-ending celebration.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
Great; I don't know if you know this, but most people have bosses but they're still responsible for doing their job. Constantly excusing away Hahn's actions as Kenny and Jerry meddling is just laughable.

you're not sure if any GM is good enough to win with a 195 million dollar budget on the MLB roster. puhleeze

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
This is such bullshit. I honestly have no idea why so many continue to carry water for Hahn by making these excuses. Kenny Williams won much more than Rick Hahn as the GM of the team. With his trades, his signings, his moves... Rick Hahn has one of the worst track records in FA in MLB history. Even if you want to argue he can't sign big deals, there have been plenty of ways to supplement and add depth to this roster with the 195 million he was allowed to spend without wasting 15-20 million a year on complete garbage. Big contracts are Jerry's fault... now the small contracts are Kenny's fault. GTFOH with that.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
This was an old tweet, but it's so hilarious to me. As someone who has made a career in analytics, has a degree in the world of analytics, and loves baseball statistics and data.... how broken does your brain have to be to claim a RP who had an ERA over 6 actually had a good year because of metrics that don't actually impact the small sample scoreboard for a reliever. No reliever with a 6 ERA has ever had a good year.

Attendance is a small chunk of their revenue.

Brandon Nimmo resigns with Mets 8yrs 162M
In the 90s and etc top teams were spending almost 7 times more than bottom teams.

Wowser. Hilarious to hear Jerry cronies claim this team lost money last year.

I remember Pal and the Greek Freak tappin' their buddies for a piece or twos of news in the past couple years, but I had always assumed it was a joke.

to be fair, everyone who wants to get paid has worn out their welcome for the White Sox.

addition by subtraction ? the teams record without anderson the past few years is like 15 games under 500, with him they're like 40 games over. addition by subtraction is the funniest s%*# i've read here in a long time.

i found that part hilarious. the guys driving the literal clown car over the cliff would supposedly be claiming that someone else has worn out their welcome.

Pal and Green-Konerko venturing into the same Gyro shop for their inside scoops.

Xander to the Padres - 11yrs 280M
I'd take under 20 total WAR throughout the tenure of this deal.

Xander to the Padres - 11yrs 280M
This is basically 40 million a year for 7 years. Xander isn't gonna be productive with his profile at 37-38 years old. This is one deal I look at and am happy the sox wouldn't make. Interested to see what Swanson gets, wouldn't be shocked to see him outperform Xander next 5 years.

Xander to the Padres - 11yrs 280M
This will be by far the worst deal of the offseason.

Winter Meetings Thread
Nothing more throw-up worthy than the new found Mets stans at Soxtalk. Might be worse than Caufields borderline-illegal infatuation with the Padres.

Winter Meetings Thread
don't forget... "A lot of our guys were very popular throughout the meetings. We fielded and were open to all inquiries. Fortunately we're in a position of having a lot of highly sought after individuals who we'd be more than happy to go into the season with giving us an opportunity to compete for a championship."

Welp, This became a reality.... again. Who knew. Rick Hahn never has any idea what anything is worth so he's always shocked when he doesn't get what he asks for.

Winter Meetings Thread
You know, there was a lot of conversations. We thought we had gotten to the finish line on one or two big things, but things fissled at the last minute. It doesn't mean the off-season was lost for us, but I'm definitely feeling like the fans tonight.

wow, imagine how ugly that would be. hahn trying to get proper value for three very good players from the best team and smartest organization in baseball.

Baseball will never learn. They should have some kind of soft signing deadline at the winter meetings. Their elongated off-season is so bad for the sport.

Trea Turner to Phillies
it was poking fun as a joke, nothing serious. hope that's ok with you!

Trea Turner to Phillies
Turner is a very good defensive SS, an elite baserunner beyond just speed, in addition to being a ++ offensive player. He's not 35 years old. His bat could regress slightly and he'd still be a well above average player. The risk with Trea is injury related; if he stays healthy, he's probably the safest bet of any FA in this class. Swanson being probably the 2nd least risky given expected contract size.
