  1. We are much better. Our offense is better and our SP is much better.
  2. @fathomcouldn't we have asked to have those guys taken off second and third in tims at bat?
  3. Luis hits the ball so hard and now Vaughn gets to win it. This is crazy
  4. I absolutely blame the FO for buying high on a guy while selling low on two of their own guys. Kimbrel was worth a bag of balls this past off season
  5. I'm feeling good about this team, not bad, with how this offense has come back and started destroying the ball. Losses happen, I take away a lot of positives. Left some guys on base tonight but that's just bad sequencing luck. Offense is back and only will get better with yaz.
  6. Crochet and kopech and.. dare I say it, bummer are back and ready to dominate. Who knew that you can find bullpen help for pretty cheap contract wise.
  7. The kimbrel is great hendriks is trash stans are a weird group.
  8. Can we get some more threads about how unhittable our bullpen is now?
  9. Mariano was amazing and did it forever, but over a 7ish year sample kimbrel was the best to ever do it.
  10. Prime kimbrel was not capable of a bad 30 game stretch. He was the best reliever I've ever seen in my life. The end of his red Sox tenure was always an adventure. He was still good but he wasn't that that guy anymore. The walks spiked and he became more vulnerable. I hope he has the most dominant post season ever, and he's clearly still capable of having completely dominant stretches but it's not a shoe in anymore like it was from 2010-2017. Now he's at risk of bad stretches like other human pitchers.
  11. The hilarious thing about these threads is the only one who has the proper expectations for kimbrel in these threads is me, the guy who others are trying to educate about how good he is lol. My entire point about why the trade was dumb was relievers are volatile as hell and at the mercy of small sample swings. Now I'm being told it's fine that kimbrel has blown 2 games in 9 days lol because that just happens to relievers Uh, no shit. I said that.
  12. Pal you're talking about 36 freaking innings. Matt Albers has had a dominant 36 innings. Kimbrel was the best reliever in the world until 2017, and since then he's been just another really good reliever who now walks too many and is streaky. It doesn't mean he's bad by any means, and he had a great start to this year but the three years prior still count. He's not a bum but he's not consistently the guy he was for 36 innings this year anymore.
  13. Have you watched the team this year? At what point do you think results actually matter?
  14. It's one game and a loss means very little. Team is still great, but being critical of investing this type of capital in two post 32 year old relievers isn't doom and gloom, it's reality and there's a reason no other team has ever done it. Team still great. Bullpen still a huge concern come playoff time.
  15. You can't get a 34 year old closer for 16 million? News to me. I can't think of the last reliever at that age demanding much more than that. Especially coming off 2 of 3 down years. Would he likely get more guaranteed money as a FA? Sure. But I doubt it would be at that aav.
  16. This was his 7th outing for the sox. There should have been 0 chances for you to claim this weird conspiracy theory but there's already been two. I worry about you thinking it's weird for someone not to post during every game. Thoughts and prayers flying your way!!!
  17. No, because a reliever isn't the reason the team wins world series. Amazing how sensitive people are about kimbrel. Guy has been below average since we got him. Hes not a value next year. He's making 16 million dollars. Jaysus.
  18. I didnt post during the field of dreams game. I've posted during this game. You seem to have a hard time understanding that I'm not always online.
