GT: Yankees at White Sox, Game 1 - 7:10 CT
Graveman has pitched one time in a week. This team spent all this money on relievers, had ruiz and foster pitch great, and are throwing Connor banks in relatively high leverage spots. It's comical honeslty. Graveman needs to be managed probably because he doesn't have a track record as a reliever. Kelly hasn't been a high leverage guy for a while. How could all these bullpen guys be unavailable after a day off? The Sox realize they need to win games, right?

This is who Joe Kelly is; least surprising thing to me. He loses command of the strike zone and isn't a high leverage reliever; hasn't been for most of his career. Giving him that contract was crazy town. Also, Tony La Russa is something else. If the Sox score 2 runs in the 8th/9th, look no further than La Russa for giving this game away. Leaves Kelly in for no reason. Then brings in a lefty for Stanton and Donaldson. It's honestly amazing how incompetent La russa is.

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
Something doesn't add up here. They knew their trainer, who never acted inappropriately at work, who had a wife and kids was gay?

Eloy Supposedly Back in Two Weeks
I don't even get excited about Eloy's returns because I've become very skeptical of his hitting ceiling. Hoping he makes me look like a fool.

Lawsuit Filed Against the Sox
Just not how the clubhouse operates, sadly. In MLB especially, it's a rather conservative group who share a wide ranging of views and beliefs, some of which are clearly homophobic and even racist. I think a homophobic demographic might be more openly homophobic in sports because of the way players act in a clubhouse setting. It's not right, but sadly look at the Blackhawks case. The PLAYERS were making fun of the guy for being assaulted by a male coach. I'm obviously not saying it's right, but it feels like the most possible avenue. I also agree it puts the management in a tough spot, because if players were to be uncomfortable and outwardly disrespectful and open about their disdain for it, you risk sexual harassment and other lawsuits. Again, it's not right but anyone who has been in a high level clubhouse understands there's a lot of inappropriate shit that goes on, and it's not your standard workplace. I have a hard time believing Hahn and company hate gay people and wanted him gone after two+ years of knowing for that reason, but I do find it slightly plausible that if he WAS dismissed because of being gay (which is still a big if based on the facts we know currently) it was because of player sentiment and or attitude.

The two discrimination classifications this guy falls in - age and sexual orientation - also happen to be the two reasons he was fired. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but if he was told he was fired for being gay, I'm not sure why they're also going after them for age discrimination and vice versa. I've always found the argument of age discrimination odd because it's more likely that young people are discriminated against under the guise of "experience" and older people tend to be industry gatekeepers now-a-days. Look at the most powerful positions in the world and in corporations, they almost all trend older. Maybe the White Sox were on the forefront of race changes in baseball but do have an issue with gay people; it feels really unlikely based on their history, but none of us know what goes on behind closed doors. As for the time lapse, that's not all that odd but what is odd is that they would promote the person who they were going to discriminate against. In the world of sports, the one thing I view as a possibility is that some players were uncomfortable with him being gay and found out somehow without knowing previously, and the team termed him because of that. That's really difficult to prove without a paper trail of some sorts, but that would be the one possibility I could see as having changed from 2018 to 2020.

@wegner confirmed to be the guy who just tweeted into the broadcast that he loves the nationwide jingle and sings it to his newborn as "nathanwide" because his son is nathan and he loves it.

Moncada to be back on Monday
Of course it counts, do you think the distribution isn't relatively even? Do you think the Sox are the only team effected by the balls? Here are two graphs to show exactly that: One shows the variance between wOBA and xwOBA - most samples are sitting around -.25-.35 - the Sox are at -.55. The other shows the the two fields comparatively and the Sox are the outliers in both chart. Unless you have some research showing they would be more effected than any other team.

And they're 10th in xWOBA.

How Unconcerned Should We Be?
Pal, did you even read the post you responded to? I was responding to Jack as to why him comparing the 2022 White Sox to the 2021 Guardians made no sense. Now you're telling me the situations are nothing alike. Sheesh.

Moncada to be back on Monday
See, this is a great post that just reiterates my above post about you and Jack. Devers had 22 errors, Yoan 16. So your negative point was actually wrong by quite a bit.

Moncada to be back on Monday
The self proclaimed two "biggest Moncada fans" on Soxtalk hate on him relentlessly and couldn't be further from accurate on his ability or production last year. Both Jack and Polar Bear believe they're fans of Moncada, but they're more-so like abusive fathers who claim they just want what is best for their boy while they whoop his ass for having fun and smiling despite making an out on the baseball field. Neither of you are big Moncada fans because you don't actually appreciate all the areas he does contribute and make absurd proclamations like "Jake Burger has been a better hitter this year than Moncada was last year." Also, moving Moncada to second base would be a disaster of a decision and not one that a Moncada fan would recommend or want.

How Unconcerned Should We Be?
What does any of this have to do with Jack saying the 2022 White Sox are the 2021 Guardians?

During the winning streak, Leury is: 6/15 with 1 2B, 3 RBI's, 1 run scored. In May, Leury has a 982 OPS. I hate Leury, but every point you have made is wrong.

Moncada to be back on Monday
LOL Moncada had a 122 wRC+ last season. Burger's wRC+ was 87 this year. Moncada was 35% better offensively last year than Burger has been this year.

did you ever think, for one second, that a guy who didn't have an OPS of 567 might have put the team in a better position to not need a 9th inning walk?
