The FO and Ricky did this with more than Collins unfortunately. There are serious questions with some of our depth pieces that could have been close to resolved last year. But that didn't happen.

I know you are 100% Moose but I don't see how he gets AB's to justify signing him. You are counting on Moncada to be hurt to justify this, while also forgetting Dickerson who you also want to sign, is hurt more than Moncada. Yo played 132 games this last year and 140 something in 2018. Madrigal will be up within a month of 2020. Moose doesn't play a positional need at all. It's really easy to say "Well he can just play 1B", despite having 4 starts there his entire career which was 3 or 4 years ago. So, you're saying you want Moose to be our every day 1B then, right? Because that's the only way he makes sense. But you also wan't Grandal who will play first. And Abreu plays first. And Collins plays first. I just don't see how that ever works.

I would not want to trade for him and I'm fully on the "Give JDM a bag" train. Boras will know what his markwt is so we'll see. I'd put it 70/30 he opts out.

We need a DH that hits and gets on. Grandal does not hit near enough for me if it was between JDM or Grandal. JDM's bat just plays so much better.

Wheeler getting 4-5/20 AAV is probably pretty close to what he gets. I don't think there is a chance he gets 150 million though.

It's not like they won't have pitching though. Assuming they sign 2 starters you're looking at for example purposes Gio Wheeler Cease Lopez Nova Kopech (AAA start/IP limit) Rodon (After ASB) That's 7 ML starting pitchers after the ASB and 6 before. I agree that the secondary SP we pick up should be somebody cheap as Kopech and to a lesser extent Rodon will be up at some point in the season. It just doesn't make a ton of sense to throw a lot of money at that.

Then sign JDM and plug him at 1st who is tiers above Moustakas at the plate.
