  1. Throw in a club and player option then if he wants it. The way he has pitched the last 2 years he would be worth every penny. Especially taking his pitching lab disgnostics reports and sharing that with our young pitchers. He had TJ already didn't he?
  2. You get insurance on deals like that to hedge it. He's going to command something near that.
  3. I really hope they don't drag this out. 7/250 is beyond fair. That should be close to our max offer. Let him have option years if he wants. "We don't do options" is incredibly dumb.
  4. St. Louis does nothing for me, but that's when they usually win. Cards in 6
  5. If the Sox are going to go stop gappy in RF I'd want them to check in on Joc again.
  6. I wouldn't mind it if it was a video game. I just wouldn't want to move our franchise player 3x in 3 years when we still haven't extended him. If Yo says he wants to play OF so we could get Rendon fine. Tim Anderson had a lot to say about it during the Manny saga since he potentially was taking his spot.
  7. I fucked both my thumbs up late June at work and have been off since. Have been playing heavy modded X-Com 2, Total War: Warhammer 2, and Total War: 3 Kingdoms since I couldn't do any fast twitch games with a cast on one hand and brace on the other. What is out console wise right now? Anybody play the new Borderlands? I was given the blessing to start lifting, shooting, and playing video games again last week lol.
  8. How wouldn't it? Did you watch this team at all? They won 72 games with 1.5 pitchers.
  9. Wow, that hot dog move by Acuna in the first game is bigger than I thought.
  10. There is no way the Twins sniff 100 wins next year in my opinion. They are losing their 2nd best pitcher and had everything click for them this year. Cleveland still has positional issues even though that staff is top tier. We will see. I just don't see how the Sox have a worse record next year against the Twins and Indians. Cleveland also went something around 15-1 against Detroit. That won't happen again you never see anything like that.
  11. He's going to get more money than the 60 million he's owed for sure. I have no idea what the years are going to look like but I can see him getting 75 million plus pretty easily.
  12. That definitely is talking about next year. Maybe he is just saying that because a deal for next year hasn't been formally signed. Only thing I can think of. I'm assuming broadcasters either aren't contractual or Stones "contract" expired when the season ended.
  13. Greg he's had over 1000 OPS 4 of the last 5 years. Jose never has. That isn't an advanced stat. EDIT: I misread his stats on bRef, he's done it 2 of the last 3 years.
  14. I agree. I'd rather have them overpay than add the extra year.
  15. He would be opting out with 3 years 61 million left on the deal so I'm thinking he gets 4. Unless the Sox do 3/75 or something like that.
  16. I've been on the JDM train for awhile now. Sign that bad man.
  17. I see Wheeler as a fringe #2. If they end up with him instead of ColeBurg I'd be happy.
  18. I think there's a lot of people here stuck in a Sox echo chamber of despair. If you go on other baseball websites/message boards the Sox are almost a consensus pick along with SD to be one of the next great teams. If rival fans are seeing it so are the players. All Jerry has to do is open the pocket book, this isn't the Cleveland Browns.
  19. They already fixed him. Look at Charlie Morton.
  20. Yeah, you don't get a guy like that in his peak prime to fuck around with lesser talent. I don't like the OF's either but you add in a JDM and Castellanos' bat this offense is going to hum.
  21. I think if they end up ~140 after this FA period we should be in good shape. That would be 90 million spent. Save the rest to see what's available next year. Unless of course we sign Cole, then tap it out.
  22. When you get mad and want to post, put mittens on first.
  23. The White Sox have a payroll of 50 million dollars after arbitration. Saying "out of their price range" on people not named Gerrit Cole is dumb, especially when talking about pitchers in their mid 30's. Also Rich Hill would be a terrible signing. That writer is being an edgelord.
